Growing In Unity Day 2: Simple Loose Watercolor Cards!

Good morning, friends! I am back for my second day of Growing in Unity and as promised, I am using the March Whit Kit in a different way. I still had a bunch of the pattern paper die cut from yesterday's cards (wasn't sure how many I would end up making) so I used that for my base again. I really love these card kits - normally I get card kits and half the contents sit unused in a drawer somewhere. This kit is being annihilated which is the point! To use it up. These sentiments have to be some of my favs.

At first I had hoped the florals would be a bit larger so I could watercolor them but then I thought, why not watercolor anyway in a messy, loose splashy way. I picked out the areas I thought were leaves and splashed some green paint there then added purple in the rest. I love the way it turned out - I even added a little sparkle to the letters! I matted it on some navy yardstick and wrapped twine from the February card kit for a little embellishment. I thought about adding the pearl confetti sequins again but liked it just as it is.

Today's livestream will be a noon today and I'll show you step by step just how easy this card comes together! Hope to see you there.

The best part of being a GIU Gal is being able to select two winners to receive 25 random stamps from Unity Stamp Co at the end of the week!!! So be sure to leave your comments on each blog post this week, k?

Until tomorrow, do something that makes you happy today!

I have started including affiliate links for all the supplies used in my videos here. Using the links when you see something you like helps me with a teeny tiny kickback without changing the price for you at all. It's an easy way for you to support my art and my channel so I can continue to create good content for you. Thank you so much!

Lovely card! I'm not very good with watercolors but can use watercolor brushes. Probably should apply the same techniques to the watercolors. I like your quick design. Thank you for sharing.

Loose watercolor is a favorite look of mine but I can’t seem to let go enough to allow it in my own work. It looks so good with a large word like that! I might have to try it out.
