Stamp Stash Saturday: Mama Elephant The Bunny's Hop + Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Hey guys! Welcome to another Stamp Stash Saturday! Today I'm using a NEW stamp to my stash but I think that counts just as much as I'm using it right away rather than letting it sit around and get dusty, right?! I just couldn't resist these bunnies from Mama Elephant when I saw them. My daughter's lovie used to be a stuffed bunny plus we have two pet bunnies so anytime I see a bunny in a stamp set I have a soft spot. I absolutely loved the snowman set like this one but it was sold out EVERYWHERE at Christmastime so I wasn't able to get it. With Easter just around the corner this would be a great set for Easter cards as well.

I  had a hard time deciding what I wanted to color with today but ultimately my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers won because I haven't used them in a long time. I forgot how awesome they are to watercolor with and I'm so happy with the way this card turned out.

I added a few details with my Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter pen and a white gel pen at then end. Then I die cut the panel with a stitched rounded die by WPlus9 and added a simple sentiment from Lawn Fawn since this stamp doesn't come with any sentiments and I didn't have ANY stamps that said Happy Easter I thought I could use this card as as simple thank you! Almost (finally) caught up on those.

First Impressions: Fadeout Ink by InkOn3 No line Watercoloring for Stamp Stash Saturday

Hi guys! Welcome to another Stamp Stash Saturday! This week, I'm testing out a new ink I recently heard of called Fadeout by InkOn3. I have always loved the no line coloring look but it is a pretty intermediate or even advanced technique and I could to all the coloring fine but would always have trouble filling in the facial features. This ink is definitely unique and think it really did take a lot of the guessing work out that I used to do with this technique.

I just adore this stamp called My Boys! Ahhhh, boy stamps are sooooo hard to come by that are cute because if you know me AT all, I gotta have the cute factor. I picked up this stamp set last month from Tiddly Inks specifically to use for my son's birthday this month and I'm so glad I did. My daughter used one of the other images from the stamp set to create a card for her brother which I think is so awesome. At least in my house, there are a lot of little crafters around using up the supplies I justhavetohave. haha

Check out my video below seeing this ink in use and the coloring come together. Also, be sure to head over to my YouTube channel to subscribe so you don't miss any future Stamp Stash Videos!

Watercolor Wednesday: Flowers and Leaves Practice {Speed Painting Video}

Hi everyone! Welcome to another Watercolor Wednesday! Today I wanted to do something a little different. In my last video, I asked what you wanted to see in future Watercolor videos. There was definitely a request for painting florals and it's something I've been wanting to master for awhile anyway. This month I want to work on different sorts of florals. To start, I'm just doing a practice sheet full of different kinds of flowers and leaves using my brush to create the shapes. It's completely abstract and I'm not thinking about using this for anything but practice which is quite liberating in itself.

I understand this is quite a different video from my last because I am not talking all the way through but I'm just inviting you to join me in my practice and follow along. Once I am more confident with a particular style or technique, I'll provide voice over tutorials for you. For now, I hope you will enjoy this speed painting. You can watch below or head to my YouTube Channel.

Mixed Media Monday: Working on Kraft paper #ShowusyourMEdia Challenge

Hi everyone! It's Monday so that means Mixed Media time! I definitely wanted to play in the Dina Wakley Show Us Your MEdia Challenge and I have been eyeing the Kraft paper in the DWM journal for sometime. I think the reason I struggle with this surface the most is because I always start with gesso on any other surface and this surface is unique in that it's not white and that's what makes it amazing. I love seeing the colors of paints pop on this surface so I tried really hard not to go overboard with my paint like I normally do!

That wasn't the only thing taking me out of my comfort zone today. I also decided to play with a warm color palette and picked out Ruby, Magenta and Lemon to start out my background. You can see I did introduce Turquoise for that extra pop of a contrasting color. Once I added that color, I fell in love with this page. I love that feeling and it's the reason I art journal. This quote from the Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers means SO much to me. I so long to be brave.

The challenge prompt this month talks about creating a piece of art about who you want to be and it's never to late to become that. I long to live free from my anxiety, live in the moment without worrying about the future or dwelling in the past. I saw these words and knew they belonged on this page.

I really enjoyed creating on this surface that used to intimidate me so much. Now I wish the journal had more Kraft pages in it! This shows exactly how the colors pop against that Kraft surface. I found so much joy in this page using colors I normally wouldn't, thinking about who I want to be and just getting lost in the little moments I steal away for myself throughout a day to create art!

I hope you enjoy the process video as well. It's fun to see it come together from a blank page to something so full of color, meaning and beauty. You can watch it here on my blog or head to my YouTube channel to subscribe so you don't miss a video when it comes out. Every Monday I'll be back with a new mixed media video for you!

Stamp Stash Saturday: Two for One Cards with Ink Blended Background + Copic Coloring

Hi guys! I love Stamp Stash Saturdays so much. Card making was my first love when I started crafting and I still love coloring and card making so much. I'm still getting caught up on all those Thank You cards I have to make and I've been dying to use these adorable Stamping Bella Unicorn stamps since I started this series. Once I saw the sentiment from the matching Unicorn Sentiment set, the plan was set in place! I was inspired by the sentiment to use Distress Oxide inks to create a blended background and by using a simple die cut I could stretch my panel to create two cards. I have been comparing a couple different black ink pads so it was also a great opportunity to use Memento Tuxedo Black (my go to for Copic markers) as well as the My Favorite Things Extreme Black which says for use with alcohol markers, ie. Copic markers.

I absolutely adore how these cards turned out and loved created a cloud background as well with Distress Oxide inks using the My Favorite Things Cloud stencils. By cutting out the circle from my panel, I was able to use both the negative and positive spaces to create my two cards today. So simple.

I really loved coloring these adorable little Stamping Bella Unicorns. They are the perfect size for some simple and quick coloring and I couldn't resist having some fun with their hair.

Here is the second card which uses the circle die cut and then I just added another circle die cut off set for the same sentiment.

I used the Spectrum Noir Glitter marker to add shimmer to the horns and hair but I also used the Sakura White Gelly Roll pen to create the little stars in the hair and sky. I think it just makes it look more sparkly and it's so fun to do.

I hope you'll take a moment to watch the cards come together in my video. I do this every Saturday with a stamp I've never used before so be sure to subscribe to my channel as well if you want to see more card making videos like this one!
