Hi everyone! Welcome to another Faith collection release from The Greeting Farm! This month we have THREE new sets coming your way and I think you're going to love them. They are perfect for bible journaling, prayer journals, cards and more. For my first bible journaling, I combined two of the stamp sets to create my page. I used Perfect In Him which features this GORGEOUS angel that is sized perfectly for the margins in your bibles along with the new set A Place For Me for the stars and clouds in the sky.
This whole chapter in Psalms talks about Praising the Lord and I took my inspiration for my page from verses 1-4:
1Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights above. 2Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts. 3Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars. 4Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.
I prep all my pages before starting whether I'm using watercolors or acrylics. I prefer Dina Wakley Clear Gesso right now whenever I'm going to watercolor and I prep both sides of the page before starting. I have found this really reduces the warping and wrinkling that can occur fro using a lot of water media on a page. For my background I used Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks. I stamped my angel first though and masked her with Molotow Masking fluid to protect her from all the background colors before coloring her with Jane Davenport Mixed Media watercolors. I really love how it all came together. For the bottom I used Thickcut Caps in a light grey ink and hand lettered Praise over top.
My second page features the new set Stay Salty. I am in LOVE with this set. As soon as I saw it I knew I would be journaling about Matthew 5:13 where Jesus talks about being the Salt + Light of this world. Immediately I thought about how all the colors combined create light as you would see through a prism (this may or may not have been influenced by a recent episode of Magic Schoolbus I watched with my kiddos but hey...) So I stamped the world and masked it again with Molotow Masking Fluid (which if you are wondering works great on a prepped bible page - I don't know that I'd want to try without having that layer of gesso protecting that thin page.)
For this page, I used Daniel Smith Watercolors entirely. I also sprinkled salt on the watercolor while it was still wet to emphasize that part in the verse and create texture in my background. I love how this turned out. This set would make a great set of encouragement cards as well. So many possibilities with the 3 new sets today!
