Hi everyone! I'm back with Day 3 of my Growing in Unity week and I'm back in my art journals. I'm trying to push myself to draw more but when I don't have time or I don't feel quite inspired, there is an Angie Girl for that! Today I pulled out Wakely Girl because I love all that text behind her! I also love her style and her hair. haha I also love the sentiments this set comes with. I used It's Your Story to Write and there is another one that says I love that You're Part of my Story which would be great to put on a card to a friend!
I decided to work in my new Dina Wakley Media Journal because it's so much fun and the paper I think is the watercolor paper. It already had some swipe of paint on it from wiping of brushes from previous pages but I just stamped my image with Versafine Onyx Black ink and used the Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks to color her in. I just wet my watercolor brush and picked up the pigment directly from the scribble stick to add to my image. Super easy and fast watercoloring. I do the same technique with watercolor pencils, too. After I finished coloring, I grabbed my Distress Oxide Reinkers (I haven't gotten any of the ink pads yet!) and used those to watercolor my background. I love how they blend and react with water creating so many different shades and tones of color. The background came out so pretty and I literally just swiped my paintbrush back and forth on the page. Once that was dry, I added a few spots of journaling and then made some paint marks with Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body Acrylic paint in Medieval. I love the dark pewter hue and the shimmer her metallics leave. That's it for my page today, I hope you are enjoying my week so far as we've hit the halfway point! I'll be back tomorrow with a new project featuring Unity Stamp Co.
Be sure to comment on my blog posts each day this week for your chance to win an awesome Unity Stamp Co prize pack! I'll be choosing ONE winner from all the comments left each day at the end of the week (winner to be announced Monday, April 24). Also, be sure to check out Terri's Blog, our other Growing In Unity Gal this week - she's a newbie so be sure to leave her lots of love this week as well because you have a second chance to win over there.

Carisa, I love your art journal... so colourful. You make it all sound so simple. Again thanks for sharing the media you use... when I have some spare cash I will want to try some more of the items you use like the Dina Wakely scribble sticks.

I haven't tried art journaling yet, but I'm so inspired to try when I see something like this. I just got this stamp, so maybe it's time to just stop hesitating and give it a go.
