Now on to our MAY Farm Fresh Challenge. This month our challenge is an easy one:

SCRAPBOOK, PLANNER & JOURNAL PAGES!

For my project this challenge, I pulled out my watercolor journal that I like to practice my lettering in. I used two sets from the Faith Collection at The Greeting Farm. I had this splash of watercolor already down and it was just waiting for the perfect verse to letter on top. I chose Psalm 118.:6 because it's something I need to remind myself constantly. I suffer from anxiety and depression and fear is the root of a lot of it. I find that when I letter a verse, I tend to mediate on it a bit more than if I just read it in my bible. That's what I love about this journal as well as using stamps. Since I wanted to make Lord bold in the verse I was writing I used the new set ThickCut Caps and added a bit of white highlight. Then I lettered the rest of the verse around it and used this cute vine flourish from the set Power in His Name finish it off. I am a bit rusty in my lettering practice but I love the way this page turned out. I hope you are inspired as well to join in our fun challenge this month!

Now be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm Blog to read the rules and link up your card.

Hugs!

Growing In Unity Gal - Day 5!

Hi everyone! This week went by so fast. Welcome to day 5 and my final day of my Growing in Unity week. Today I'm combining watercolor, mixed media and a little hand lettering! I am a little rusty but I love how this canvas turned out. I started by using my favorite Daniel Smith Watercolor Moonglow to create a wash for my background. Then once that was dry, I stamped my coffee image from the Love to Go stamp set by Unity Stamp Co. It's not an Angie Girl but it is a design by Angie Blom! Love her! And this coffee stamp was perfect of the sentiment I wanted to use.

I wanted to highlight the heart so I pulled out my favorite Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body Acrylic Metallic in Rosy and colored that in then using my paint brush created some coffee beans around the cup. I love how it turned out! Thanks for joining me all week. I had a blast.

Be sure to comment on my blog posts each day this week for your chance to win an awesome Unity Stamp Co prize pack! I'll be choosing ONE winner from all the comments left each day at the end of the week (winner to be announced Monday, April 24). Also, be sure to check out Terri's Blog, our other Growing In Unity Gal this week - she's a newbie so be sure to leave her lots of love this week as well because you have a second chance to win over there.

Growing in Unity Gal - Day 4!

Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 4 of my Growing In Unity week. It seems watercolor and mixed media is my theme this week with me pulling out all these beautiful Angie Girl stamps I seem to love collecting. haha Today I am using Dream of Being. I feel just like her when I get my cup of coffee in the morning. I just want to sit there, letting that warmth fill me up and think about the day (sometimes days) ahead.

Today I pulled out my Daniel Smith Watercolors. These are my ABSOLUTE favorite watercolors but they are artist grade so it's not something I would recommend for a beginner. There are many great student grade watercolors that until you know you're obsessed (like me) and then want to play with the more artist quality supplies, I would then definitely recommend Daniel Smith...they have some of the most beautiful colors an properties that I've ever seen with a watercolor. My favorite color is hands down Moonglow which is the purple I used here...at least it is supposed to be. During my move, my watercolors popped out of their well in my palette and they are all kinda mixed up so it's a guessing game now. It BOTHERS me a lot, too that I don't know exactly what color is where. I will probably make up a new palette eventually. ;) That's it for me today.  A very simple watercolor card. I'll be back tomorrow for my final day!

Be sure to comment on my blog posts each day this week for your chance to win an awesome Unity Stamp Co prize pack! I'll be choosing ONE winner from all the comments left each day at the end of the week (winner to be announced Monday, April 24). Growing In Unity Gal - Day 3!

Hi everyone! I'm back with Day 3 of my Growing in Unity week and I'm back in my art journals. I'm trying to push myself to draw more but when I don't have time or I don't feel quite inspired, there is an Angie Girl for that! Today I pulled out Wakely Girl because I love all that text behind her! I also love her style and her hair. haha I also love the sentiments this set comes with. I used It's Your Story to Write and there is another one that says I love that You're Part of my Story which would be great to put on a card to a friend!

I decided to work in my new Dina Wakley Media Journal because it's so much fun and the paper I think is the watercolor paper. It already had some swipe of paint on it from wiping of brushes from previous pages but I just stamped my image with Versafine Onyx Black ink and used the Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks to color her in. I just wet my watercolor brush and picked up the pigment directly from the scribble stick to add to my image. Super easy and fast watercoloring. I do the same technique with watercolor pencils, too. After I finished coloring, I grabbed my Distress Oxide Reinkers (I haven't gotten any of the ink pads yet!) and used those to watercolor my background. I love how they blend and react with water creating so many different shades and tones of color. The background came out so pretty and I literally just swiped my paintbrush back and forth on the page. Once that was dry, I added a few spots of journaling and then made some paint marks with Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body Acrylic paint in Medieval. I love the dark pewter hue and the shimmer her metallics leave. That's it for my page today, I hope you are enjoying my week so far as we've hit the halfway point! I'll be back tomorrow with a new project featuring Unity Stamp Co.

Growing in Unity Gal - Day 2!

Hi everyone! I'm back with Day 2 of my Growing In Unity week. I love pulling out watercolors when I'm inking up my Unity Stamps. Today I'm using the stamp Missing You Girl. I love all the Angie Girl stamps!!! I have so many watercolors but right now I'm enjoying playing with my Jane Davenport watercolors. They are perfect because the neutral palette has the perfect skin tones and the brights has all my favorite purples, pinks and turquoise! They are small and easy for on the go, too.

To go with the sentiment, I added Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body paint in Rosy to the card base because I love the beautiful rose gold shimmery color. I also added clear Spectrum Noir glitter pen to the hair on my girl because that color has to shine! A few sequins and this card is good to go. I feel like a little mixed media and a little watercolor will be the theme this week! Hope you like it!

Growing in Unity Gal - Day 1!

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be a returning Growing in Unity Gal this week. Unity Stamp Company is such a sweet company and I love that there is a style for everyone. I tend to gravitate toward the artsy or cutesy stamps which  you will probably see this week.

For my project today, I'm reaching deep into my stash of Unity Stamps that spans YEARS of collecting and inking up a favorite Christy Tomlinson stamp called She Leaped (sadly, no longer available) that I honestly *gasp* don't think I've used before. See...I have this bad habit of seeing cute stamps that I HAVETOHAVE and then when I get them, they just sit there all cute because I can't bring myself to make anything even remotely as awesome as they already are. LOL It's a sickness and one you don't have because honestly, we should USE these beautiful stamps because that's why we bought them in the first place.

I pulled out my handmade art journal that already has some backgrounds created making it easy to just put together a page in a pinch. I stamped my girl and then blocked her out using Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers. I outlined the image with a white gel pen and added sparkle to her wings. I can't seem to leave wings without adding a little sparkle.

I came in and added some texture with more stamps and stencils before adding my words. I thought this was fitting seeing that the background became pretty dark. I'm super happy with the way this page turned out and can't wait to be back tomorrow with another fun new Unity Stamp project!

The Greeting Farm APRIL Release - Kitty Stacks!

If you love kitties, this set is for you! Our last set for the April release at The Greeting Farm is called Kitty Stacks and features the cutest little cats in various positions as well as little kitty accessories and sentiments. So much cuteness in one set. I absolutely loved this little guy just laying on its side because it kinda feels like much of me lately. LOL I imagine we're peeking through the window at this little critter missing someone so fiercely and cannot even move or roll over because it hurts too much. Awwww, right?!

The Greeting Farm APRIL Release Previews - Main Street!

Today I have a very special guest helping me out with our April release. My daughter is joining me on my blog sharing her card using the new set called Main Street! She did an awesome job showcasing how awesome this set is if I do say so myself. This set is full of so many fun buildings perfect for building scenes. She decided to do some masking all on her own which turned out amazing. Then she used the cute little ice cream truck and just made the cutest card! I love everything about it and you're gonna love this stamp set as well!

Don't forget, we'll have a New Release Blog Hop on the 15th when 1 lucky winner will win all 3 new sets! Until then, be sure to to check out everyone's creations on The Greeting Farm Blog today using this stamp.

The Greeting Farm APRIL Release Previews - Fluffy Unicorns!

If I had a spirit animal...these Fluffy Unicorns would definitely be it! I honestly don't think I've seen a cuter unicorn stamp set ever! I just love their round little bodies and tiny little legs. hehe SO cute! I was inspired by this Copic In The Craft Room video I watched recently to create a scene with this stamp set. Doing something like this is WAY out of my comfort zone but I'm ok with how it turned out being my first time but I definitely need practice...I shy away from coloring backgrounds of ANY sort.

Here is a close up - you know I can't color up unicorns without a little sparkle! ;) This set comes with some adorable sentiments, too!

My daughter also had some fun with this set today. I absolutely adore how her card turned out. She did all the die cutting, coloring and assembly on her own. I'm so proud of her and so blessed to have her creating by my side, keeping my spirits up.

Don't forget, we'll have a New Release Blog Hop on the 15th when 1 lucky winner will win all 3 new sets! Until then, be sure to to check out everyone's creations on The Greeting Farm Blog today using this stamp.
