Now on to our MARCH Farm Fresh Challenge. This month our challenge is a bit of a fun one after my own heart:

Mixed Media Madness!

I am a cardmaker at heart. Those are my roots in crafting! Today I wanted to combine my love of making cards with my love of mixed media. I started by creating my background on watercolor paper using the new Distress Oxide inks. I don't have any of the ink pads yet but I do have some of the reinkers so I created my background using the "smooshing" technique. I added a few drops to my craft mat, spritzed with some water and just dipped my paper in it smooshing it around to pick up and blend the colors together. I used Worn Lipstick and Fossilized Amber. Once that was dry (I used my heat tool to speed up the process) I sprinkled some water on the paper and picked it up with a paper towel. Next I pulled out a stencil and using Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers, I added some texture to my background. Then I added a bit of acrylic paint spray to add some splatters to my page in a dark grey. Then I added some white splatters with a Sharpie paint pen. Next I added some stamping to my background in the same colors of Distress Ink using a stamp from the Jesus Is The Way stamp set from The Greeting Farm's Faith Collection. At this point, I die cut my panel to fit my card base.

Once my background was die cut, I stamped this darling little angel also from the Jesus Is The Way stamp set using my MISTI so I could double stamp on the textured background. I used a Jane Davenport Paint Over pen to color her flesh but kept the rest the same as the background. The paint over pen does cover up some of the stamping so I left my stamp in the MISTI so I could stamp again once I was finished coloring the skin. I also added Spectrum Noir Glitter pen in clear to her dress for a bit of shimmer!

At this point it was time to start building my card. After I put my background on my card base, I added some washi tape to the top and bottom corners then I die cut a piece to stamp my sentiment which comes from the brand new set released yesterday from our Faith Collection called Blessed Words. This stamp set is just wonderful for adding a statement sentiment to your cards as well as for building sentiments in bible journaling.
Now be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm Blog to read the rules and link up your card.

Hugs!

The Greeting Farm Faith Collection New Release - Blessed Words!

Hi everyone! I am beyond excited to be joining the design team for The Greeting Farm's new line of Faith clear stamps. You can check out the rest of the talented ladies on this design team by visiting this post on their blog. The Greeting Farm started releasing stamps that are more geared toward bible journaling and faith journaling last year and now will be having a new release every other month which is so awesome! If you haven't seen these stamps before, be sure to check them all out here on The Greeting Farm. Today we are releasing a new set to the collection called Blessed Words. These are going to be so wonderful and they fit perfectly in the margins of your journaling bibles but they are also great for cards. I love all the words included in this set and you can check out the ways the rest of the design team used them in their bible journaling at The Greeting Farm's Blog today. I love that they are completely customizable and buildable with your own handwriting or by combining them with other stamps!

I decided to highlight Ephesians 2:8 which says "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God." by using the words Grace and Faith from the stamp set with arrows pointing both to grace and to faith with the heart from the stamp set in the middle. I used my Daniel Smith Watercolors for my background because I love how transparent they are on my bible journal pages so you can still read all of the scriptures.

I used the adorable feather in the stamp set as just a little accent on my page. These feathers are so cute and I can see them used on card backgrounds and so much more! I know this is new for me to share glimpses into my bible journaling but I hope you find it inspiring and I will also be sharing other ways to use these awesome new Faith stamps by The Greeting Farm that don't involve bible journaling because I think they are so versatile.

Thank you so much for stopping by and be sure to visit The Greeting Farm today to see this and all the other Faith stamps in their collection!

THE GREETING FARM BLOG

This set is absolutely adorable! I love all the images and as soon as I got it, I knew I had to create this little scene that seems fitting for the sentiment included in the set. I stamped my two images on watercolor paper using my MISTI so I could stamp twice and get a good impression on the textured paper. Then I added the balloons with the same method and started watercoloring. I used a combination of Jane Davenport Mixed Media watercolors (for the skin tones) and Daniel Smith Watercolors for the clothes, balloons and background. I drew in the strings myself then stamped the sentiment. I added some Spectrum Noir glitter pens to the balloons and sealed them with glossy accents for just a bit of dimension. Then I adhered the watercolor panel to my card base using foam tape.

Don’t forget you must leave a comment on each blog listed in order to be eligible for the prize drawing.

Happy Hopping!
