Now on to our JANUARY Farm Fresh Challenge. This month our challenge is an easy one:

ANYTHING GOES!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am thrilled to be joining The Greeting Farm 2017 Design Team and wanted to kick it off with this adorable mermaid - Merisa for our first challenge. The sentiment comes from another adorable mermaid set - Little Mermaids. I stamped her with Versfine ink in black and watercolored her with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. These are great for watercoloring and create a vibrant look each time. I kept this card very simple adding a bit of stickles on her tail and a scattering of enamel dots. I hope you'll join us for this fun challenge this month and say hello to the rest of the new 2017 TGF Design Team.

Now be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm Blog to read the rules and link up your card.

Blitsy Summer Trends Blog Hop!

**This post contains affiliate links when possible at no cost to you. As a part of the Blitsy Creative Team, I receive product for use in my projects. The great thing is I'm able to choose what I use so all the opinions remain my own and as always I only share what I personally love to use!!**

Hi Everyone! Welcome to the Blitsy Summer Trends Blog Hop! You should have arrived from the Blitsy Blog, if not, be sure to head there right now and get ALL the details on what you need to do to enter to win a $50 Blitsy Shopping Spree. You are going to want to collect all the secret words from each Blitsy Creative Team Member and if you haven't guessed my word by the end of the blog post, I'll reveal it then for ya!

For this fun blog hop, Blitsy sent each member of the creative team a mystery box of fun products that fit the theme of summer trends. I had a fun time unboxing my video LIVE on Facebook so I would love it if you went over and joined my page so you won't miss any future live videos. You can even watch the replay if you want. In my box, it was pretty clear from the beginning that my theme had to do with the awesome pineapple trend this summer. You can find them on clothing, home décor, art and even on the names of craft products! The products I received where a fun Echo Park Pineapple 6x6 stencil, Ranger Crushed Pineapple Stickles, Little B Pineapple stickers, Lindy's Stamp Gang Flat Fabio Pineapple Paradise Spray. I couldn't wait to create a mixed media project and of course, I was going all out with the Pineapple theme. I really enjoyed hand lettering this quote that one of my Facebook followers suggested! I used a sharpie brush pen for the first time to create this look and I love the look of different hand lettering to create a shape which is what I did for the arrow.

I want to say right now, I filmed my entire process for you like I usually do BUT hit a huge snag with my editing software and I just couldn't get it worked out before the blog hop. It breaks my heart that I don't have the entire process for you. I'm honestly at my wits end and if you have any suggestions on programs to use other than iMovie, I am all ears.

With that said, I started by putting gesso on my art journal page and then using the Echo Park Stencil with the Lindy's Stamp Gang spray created a patterned background. I had never used a Lindy's Stamp Gang spray and I'm loving the vibrancy and color of it. I was curious to see if it was permanent which is a huge factor in any spray I use for my mixed media art which is why I used it as a background layer. In my experience with it on this page, it is not permanent when layering over it with other wet mediums but that didn't really bother me so much but it is something to keep in mind as I use it in the future. It definitely won't stop me from adding more colors though because the application, coverage and pigmentation is spot on!

This Little B gold pineapple sticker is the cutest! Such a fun added detail that I think would make a great card embellishment, too. I would love to create a card using this hand lettered look as well with that cute detail and the stenciled background. So many great ways to use these fun pineapple themed products!

I am not usually one for drawing anything in my mixed media (hello, stencils to the rescue) but thought I would push myself a little this once. A pineapple is just truly an oval with some details and that crown of leaves shooting out of the top...how hard can it be?! I cut out some text paper into my shape by hand and then using matte gel medium attached it to my page. I added some color using my NeoColor II crayons and Inktense pencils then created the outline with my Stabilo All Purpose pencil. Of course, this is where the stickles also come in to play. I added a thin layer around one side to create a bit of highlight and texture spreading it out with my finger.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this mixed media page. Be sure to check out the Blitsy Summer Trends Sale to find these and all the products the creative team is showcasing today for your next project! By the way, have you guessed my secret word yet?! It's PINEAPPLE!! Yep. How creative. haha

Now you are off to see what fellow creative team member, Chrissie, has created with her fun Summer Trends mystery box! I can't wait.

Clearsnap + CardMaker Blog Hop!

**As a CardMaker blogger, I sometimes receive product from our sponsors to use in my posts. This post contains affiliate links when possible at no cost to you. Clicking on these links helps me continue to bring you great content and I thank you for your support!**

Hi Everyone!

Today we have a fun filled hop together with ClearSnap. You should have arrived from Dana's Blog but if not, you can head over to the CardMaker Blog for a full list. The kind people at ClearSnap generously provided the entire CardMaker team with a variety of their beautiful Chalk Ink. I wanted to make a card that showcased the inks by creating a vibrant background. Chalk Inks are richly pigmented colors with the fast drying properties of dye ink. However, you can still achieve beautiful blending on cardstock like I've done with my card here on this woodgrain textured cardstock. I love how the colors blend and create new colors as well where they meet. So pretty and vibrant!

Once I was done with all my ink blending, I used my MISTI to stamp my image multiple times with black pigment ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I love the floral image on that multicolor background. Who says you need to always color your open line art images with markers or watercolor. I added some sparkle with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Marker on the flower images only. I left the leaves and berries matte. I had some die cuts left over from another project that fit perfectly for my card. I added that and some sequins to finish off this simple card.

I almost forgot, make sure you work your way through the entire hop until you land on ClearSnap's Blog where you will find them hosting a giveaway of $50 worth of ColorBox products! Thanks so much for stopping by today and now it's time to send you off to the next stop: Jennifer Priest's Blog!

CardMaker + Reverse Confetti Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to be participating in this fun hop with CardMaker Magazine and Reverse Confetti! I have been admiring this stamp company for awhile and they generously provided the entire CardMaker Blog Team with stamps of our choice specifically for this hop. I absolutely love the stamps I got and had a lot of fun creating my cards for today.

First up, I created this simple card using the fun new Falling Confetti Confetti Cut die. As soon as I saw this in their recent release, I knew I had to have it and I immediately knew I wanted to use the gorgeous Rainbow DecoFoil behind all those little cuts in the cardstock. I went with black just to make it pop more and I love how the white embossing looks on the dark cardstock with a sprinkling of Doodlebug Enamel Dots around it.

My second card features the stamp set Dream In Color (also used for the sentiment in the card above.) There was no doubt in my mind I was getting this stamp set because I absolutely love color and coloring! As soon as I received it, water coloring a fun rainbow background was the first thing to pop in my mind. Then I did some embossing in black and white for the sentiment.

I originally wanted it to be completely uncolored on the top half of the word color but when I added some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens to the word I accidentally brought some of the color into the top half so I just went with it and made it a bit messy. In the end, I love how it turned out.

Ok, so that's it for me, I hope you enjoyed my cards and now it's off to the next stop on the hop which is the lovely Sarah! If you get lost along the way head over to the CardMaker Blog or see the full list below. Be sure to make it to the end because Reverse Confetti has an awesome giveaway for you today!
