My Favorite Things - Light It Up Blue for Autism

Hi everyone! I have a fun and meaningful card to share with you today. There was a wonderful blog hop last week celebrating World Autism Day called Light It Up Blue for Autism. I've missed the blog hop but it inspired me to make this card in honor of all my mommy friends with beautiful children that have autism and I wanted to share it anyway. These mommy's are all rock stars in my opinion and I admire each and every one of them.

I designed my card using the My Favorite Things - Sketch 222 Challenge. I just flipped through some of my favorite October Afternoon papers out to find some pretty blues that I paired together. I love these collections because you can mix and max between collections seamlessly. I stamped the My Favorite Things - Wood Plank Background stamp on kraft card stock with Versamark ink and clear embossed it. I love the texture this gave it.

My good friend Tonya RAK'd me this awesome die from My Favorite Things - Heart Puzzle and as soon as I heard about the hop, I knew that would be perfect for my card. I cut it from some blue card stock and distressed the edges with Memento Ink Teal Zeal. I  stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black in on one of the banners in the My Favorite Things Blueprints 20 die and heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. I inked the edges again with Memento Ink Teal Zeal. I die cut the separate heart in red card stock and covered it with Wink of Stella - clear, then I popped that up with foam adhesives.

For the inside of my card I used this sentiment from the I Love You More stamp set also by My Favorite Things. To keep with the color scheme of the card, I stamped and distressed the edge of the card stock with Memento Ink Teal Zeal.
