MarkerPop! DT - Ombre Hair Tutorial with Copics

Hi everyone!

I am so excited that today begins my term as part of the DT for MarkerPop! Each week I will bring you coloring tips or tutorials using some of my favorite images and of course, Copics - since it's all about the markers at MarkerPop!

Also, we are so excited to kick off the new design team this week, that MarkerPop! has generously let us do a giveaway - I am giving away this Saturated Canary Stamp - Little Loves that I am using in my post today! Just leave a comment here and on the MarkerPop! blog for your chance to win - and be sure to check back on the MarkerPop! blog every day this week for my DT sisters giveaways as well!!

This week I am featuring Little Loves by Saturated Canary part of Little Darlings Rubber Stamps latest release and Copics. I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to Copic Xpress-It Blending Card. This is hands down my favorite ink and paper to use when coloring with Copic Markers. If you know me, even a little bit, you know I LOVE extreme hair colors and that love definitely spills into my coloring. Right now, I growing out my locks from a super short cut and I'm itching to do some dip dye - so, instead I dip dyed the hair on my image today! I might just bring this in to my hair stylist to show her what I want. LOL

I do love how the butterfly turned out - blending two different colors can be fun and I'll definitely be practicing more on this technique! I always have a hard time choosing what colors to use for lips so I tend to leave those for last. I finally decided if I had those beautiful blue eyes and striking dark hair, I'd definitely go for a deep reddish pink!

Of course, what is coloring without shimmer? I tell ya, I am so happy with Zig for coming up with the Wink of Stella glitter brush pens! For this glitter phobe but bling lover, it is the perfect touch. I finally caught the shimmer beautifully on my camera, you can see it here applied to her dress and the butterfly. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die to frame my image and will pop her on a card eventually. ;)

I filmed this video of me coloring her hair to show you how I created the black to purple ombre look using Copic Markers. I wanted to highlight this technique today for you. I hope you check out the video and please leave me some feedback on if you found it helpful or enjoyable as I plan on future videos for you!

If you are wondering the colors I used, I wrote them all out on this piece of paper for you - I normally do this and type in all the combinations, but I'm trying something different - because time is of the essence. haha I'll try to be a bit more neat with my handwriting next time. Taking a picture was pretty much an afterthought!

Thanks so much for stopping by - if you liked my card today and don't want to miss a post please be sure to follow me by clicking the button below!

Don't forget, for my first post today, MarkerPop! is giving away a prize - the Saturated Canary image I used on this project, Little Loves! Just leave a comment below by Sunday 3/8, and we will randomly pick on winner to receive this sweet stamp.

Thank you for the video! I love this image and your shading is wonderful. The first thing I noticed was the glitter in her dress. Wow!

Hi Carisa! Great job on the video. I really like how you colored her hair. The purple ombre is very pretty. It is helpful that you upped the speed. I was able to follow without getting bored with the time coloring takes.

I like your Jamberries too. Very cute!

Hugz,
Julie
