Today is World Card Making Day and there have been tons of giveaways and challenges - I haven't participated in any challenges (yet) but I DID make a card! I adore this fox from the Lawn Fawn "Into the Woods" stamp set. I stamped him on Fabriano 140lbs Watercolor paper and then colored him with Distress Inks. He matched the Sweater Weather collection (also by Lawn Fawn) perfectly so I picked out a few of my favorite patterns from the paper pad. Using the Simon Says Stamp A2 Curved Edge Craft Die, I cut my pattern papers into different angled curves to layer against the dark blue cardstock. Then I stamped the i heart fall sentiment directly on the yellow paper. Using the same red paper I cut out the La La Land Crafts Heart Banner Die and the again with the yellow pattern to inlay the hearts.
Here is a close up of my watercoloring. I just love this little fox. I can't stop coloring him in all sorts of fun colors. I've also had fun coloring with Distress Inks these past few weeks. They are really beautiful and can give you rich deep tones and soft colors as well. I'm getting better the more I practice. I stamped him with Versafine Black Onyx - this is my favorite black ink ever! It is always so rich, juicy and black - no matter if I'm using a clear stamp or rubber and perfect for watercoloring. You can see how rich the color is even with the sentiment not a spot of white except where it is supposed to be! Yep, definitely my favorite black ink!
I hope you enjoyed my card and had fun celebrating this most fun crafter's holiday! As most of you know, I've done a lot of destashing this past spring and I have a medium sized Prioirty Mail box still left full of fun things - stamps, papers, embellishments, etc. If you'd like a chance to win this box, just enter the rafflecopter below!
