Sea You Soon with Some Odd Girl & Spectrum Noir

Hi Everyone! Today I'm sharing this card I made using Some Odd Girl stamps that 7 Kids College Fund just started carrying! I adore these stamps and just have a blast coloring them. I also got to try out Spectrum Noir markers on this image as well. It was the first time I'd colored with Spectrum Noir and I have to say, they work great! You can get the blending you have come to expect with alcohol based markers at a fraction of the cost so if you have always wanted to try alcohol based markers I'd say, these would be a great introduction for you! I am working on a few ideas for video tutorials and we will also have a special collaboration with Crafter's Companion in the Oct/Nov issue of Designed To Color! So, stay tuned!

Here is a close up of the coloring I did on this mermaid. I adore her hair and kept her pretty much monotone except for her bright top which I was bummed that I got a bit of random ink on there as I was  putting together the card! But, it happens and I really wasn't about to toss her just because of that! I adore the Webster's Pages paper I used and just can't get enough of it. I think it will be one of those collections that I use every last bit of it!

I know my blog has been quiet lately and it stinks! I am trying hard to find that fine balance between all the things I want to do, need to do and HAVE to do. Like this week, I'm DESPERATELY putting the finishing touches on the Aug/Sept issue of Designed To Color! The digital magazine will be available Aug 6 with the print magazine shipping about a week later. CHA (you can read all about my time there at Designed To Color) really took a good chunk of my time this month and I wasn't able to work ahead to get the magazine ready for an Aug 1 release. That is my goal and I know I will get there! I have TONS of help putting together Oct/Nov so I think it will be a little bit easier on me. I can't wait for the Aug/Sept issue to release - I think you are all going to love it!

7 Kids College Fund Challenge AND looking for GUEST DESIGNERS!

Hi everyone! I know I haven't been posting too regularly and I feel SO bad about that but I have some exciting news to share from 7 Kids College Fund! We are currently going to be looking for guest designers from those that participate on our challenges each month! We are right in the middle of our Stars & Stripes challenge so be sure to hop over and play along this week! Check check out THIS BLOG POST for more information on what you need to do to be considered for an awesome Guest Designer spot at the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge.

I  have recently fallen in love with the Tim Holtz Distress Markers and soon my collection will be complete! Took FAR less time to acquire all 37 distress markers than my Copic collection for sure. *giggle* Here is a close up of this adorable stamp colored with these fabulous markers. I love how perfectly imperfect my coloring is with water colors. It's definitely a fun medium to use and I hope you will try some of them out!
