Color Me Purple 7 Kids College Fund Challenge

Hi Everyone! I'm running a bit behind but I wanted to share with you a NEW challenge we have going on at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog. It just started this past Wed. and runs for 2 weeks so you have PLENTY of time to join in the fun! This week we're showcasing the color PURPLE.

Purple just happens to be my favorite color and I adore this Swiss Pixie Lucy stamp - she's adorable and perfect for this picture of my daughter when she was just a baby. Her middle name is Faye because when she was born, I thought she looked just like a little fairy. She still does actually so I think we gave her just the right middle name!

Seriously, how cute is this stamp? I colored her with copics after I stamped her on Copic Xpress It Blending Cardstock. I used a new skin color combination that I saw on the Copic Facebook page which is E01 and E04. I really love this color and it has that violet undertone to match the rest of the image that I colored with BV and V's.

I got these tiny envelopes from a sweet friend of mine in a swap recently and I just couldn't wait to use them. Then I was inspired by THIS layout by Lesley Langdon to use it on my layout. I added a little note to my daughter inside the envelope. When she first saw the page she just stared and stared at it with a smile on her face, I think my kids like me venturing into scrapbooking more as much as I am!

Here is a close up of the picture of my daugther. I'm not so sure i should have fussy cut her out but once I started I was committed.

I absolutely love these yo yo's and flat backed buttons from Freckles & Pigtails. Helmar 450 Quick Dry is a must have for adhering these to my pages.

For my banner, after I threaded the twine (using a needle definitely came in handy) I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to add dimension to each banner and then I used Helmar Zap Dots to prop the image on top.

I hope you enjoyed my scrapbook page! I am really starting to love these 12x12 layouts! I'm even feeling tempted to break out my purple smash book. We'll see..... ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

I used LOTS of fabulous handmade goodies from Freckles & Pigtails as well as a GORGEOUS image from Saturated Canary that I printed at 5.5 inches and LOVED coloring it blown up like that. I always loved the way krista added these cute little bows to her girls so I found some recently and just HAD to pick up a pack so I finally used it on this page.

The doily is an awesome vintage pattern available at Freckles & Pigtails as well as the girl sentiment is a clear stamp also available there. I love the funky font.

Here is the Saturated Canary digital stamp a bit closer. I just really wanted her to be the center focus of this page. I printed her on cryogen cardstock and colored her with Copics. If you know me, you know I'm a BIT obssessed with the color teal and have a strip of it in my own hair. I normally color stamps to be used on cards and such to giveaway or sell but this image I colored JUST.FOR.ME. and LOVED it!

Here is a close up of the gorgeous yo-yo's and flat backed buttons available at Freckles & Pigtails. I love layering them together. They come in so many fun and gorgeous patterns!

The tag and girl icon stamp is also from Freckles & Pigtails - this store has so many fabulous embelishments for perfect for smashing, card making, scrapbooking and more! I'm also using my stamps more and more in my smash books. I love coloring something that I know I get to keep!

Smashing The Greeting Farm, Amy Tangerine & more!

I've got a few obsessions in my life right now. One is the color teal, the other is smashing so I decided to combine them in this page with a top 10 snapshot of what I'm obsessed with today! I am using the black folio and just picking out a page at random - whichever I happen to like in the moment.

Here you can see the entire page - I LOVE how it turned out. You can see my Top 10 list includes: #1 is Teal which I pulled into the page with some washi tape plus the image. #2 is Amy Tangerine which I've been obsessing over - I LOVE the BRIGHT colors and sketchy feel to the designs (it is called the sketchbook line for a reason) I used some of the packaging from the 6x6 paper pad to do some layering behind the image. Also the yellow arrow is some fabric embellishments from this line.

#3 is the new Bean line by The Greeting Farm - here I've used Shimmer Bean. I just ADORE that hair!!! I had so much fun coloring it TEAL with Copic markers. I stamped her on cryogen paper which you can see in the bit of sheen from the photo.

#4 and #5 you can see here with the doily peeking behind everything as well as the Amy Tan camera that I stamped and embossed on kraft paper. Kraft could have been in my top 10 as well. hehe

Here you can see I added dimension to the camera using Helmar Zap Dots. I just love how this page came together - it's one of my favorites that I've done so far.

Thanks for stopping by!

National Scrapbooking Day with Unity!

Hi everyone! Do you know what day it is? It's National Scrapbooking Day!!! And Unity Stamp Co. is kicking up a little fun with a SKETCH CHALLENGE with your chance to be a GUEST DESIGNER in July with a BONUS $100 in stamps! Whoohoo!! Find out all the details HERE.

There is SO much going on today, one being the announcement of new Unity Design Team Members on the Unity Blog! Be sure to stop by and give them a warm welcome to the Unity DT Family!!

I loved this sketch so much I knew I just had to join in all the fun! I wish I didn't have to work today because now I just want to keep going! I don't really consider myself a scrapbooker, but every time I challenge myself to go for it I'm always SO happy with the result! I just like knowing that these photos have found a home forever.

The sentiment I used is from the March KOM and I don't know about you but one of the first things that drew me into Unity were the sentiments, I especially love the scripture onces like this one. We homeschool and this verse reminds me of our 2nd unit we did this year so when I saw it I knew I had to use it!! Especially with my little shining star. She's SUCH a ham!! *giggle* I colored the stars with Copic markers and added a few more dots around the sentiment with them.

Not only does Unity have an awesome sketch challenge to celebrate National Scrapooking Day, they are always having an amazing promotion this weekend. Just check out the details above! The sale ends Sunday night.

I just wanted to show this adorable close up. I am in LOVE with these little cameras by Studio Calico so I used some Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to give it dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you will have some fun scrapbooking!

Helmar has a challenge for YOU!

MaySketch

The Helmar monthly challenges are BACK and the sketches by Lydell are as beautiful as ever! I am so inspired by them each time to make a scrapbook page so this time I am working a little bit on the calendar I keep promising my hubby! hehe I made one a few years ago with pictures of the girls and he's been asking for a new one ever since that year ended but you know how it goes. Hopefully now with the beautiful sketches we get each month I'll be able to finish it before Christmas! haha

MayChallenge

I love me some kraft paper so I wanted to keep that the focus. I just layered some different sytles of washi tape to follow the sketch layout and added a doily in the middle. I adhered everything using Helmar Premium Craft Glue except for the camera that I stamped and embossed I used Helmar Zap Dots to give a bit of dimension. The tiny words and letters are by Authentique - I just love their sticker letters and type.

Tag it with your information and be in the running to win a fun Helmar Prize.

Smashing with Unity Stamp of the Week!

Hi Everyone! I got my first Stamp of the Week from Unity Stamp Co. and I just knew I was going to use it in my smash book! If you sign up this week you will get this awesome stamp called Day & Night. Find out more on how to sign up HERE!

It's so cute! The clocks and sentiment are separate stamps and in my page I actually cute apart the clocks after I stamped them on pattern paper.

I have had this picture sitting on my desk for a few weeks from when hubby & I got married (12 years ago. *giggle*) and finally got it into my book. I love this picture. We were kissing a LOT that night - just so happy to be man and wife!

I also created a video if you want to watch the entire smash process! I was inspired by Krista Smith's clean smashing as I tend to want to fill every little space with something, but loved the look of leaving "white" space around a little cluster. I plan to do some journaling in the area apposite the picture as well.

Thanks for stopping by!
