7 kids college fund challenge Anything but a card

It's time for another challenge at the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog and this time we're asking for anything BUT a card! These challenges are so fun and I really loved what my DT sisters made. You MUST check out the blog! Tons of inspiration from shrinky dink charms to an explosion box exquisitly decorated. I resorted to my old stand by - a corner bookmark! I love making these. They are so fast & fun to put together. I used this adorable stamp called Corriander Sweet November Stamp and colored her with Copics of course.

Here you can see the bookmark in use! Isn't it darling! :D

Unity Stamp Co Challenge

Hi Everyone! Each month I see the  Unity Challenges and want to play and then the month passes by - NOT this time!! I made this card for this February's Unity Challenge to use hearts in NON traditional colors. I used some new Spellbinders goodies and the Unity Stamp Co. Blossoms Stackers stamps. The papers are from Authentique Gathering collection ( I just ADORE the colors). Do you see my bow? I used the Unity Stamp Co. Bow Maker!!! I love this thing - it's a MUST have for any crafter b/c it's seriously awesome and super affordable.

This is a new type of video for me to make - not really a tutorial but a how to. I enjoy making videos because I'm always curious about someone's creative process and have been enjoying the feedback from you on my videos. I am glad that so many are enjoying them and becoming inspired to try something new or get back to crafting. That is the whole point of my blog and anything I share. I just want to inspire someone to get in their craft room, stamp and make something that makes them happy because that's why I do what I do! I hope you enjoy this little peak into my process in creating this particular card:

7 Kids College Fund Monochromatic Challenge

We're doing monochromatic this week at 7 Kids College Fund challenge! You don't have to stick to black and white either, do monochromatic in any color! I chose to keep it simple by stamping directly on my kraft cardstock and coloring in earth tones using Copic Markers. I added the white highlight around the image using a primsa colored pencil. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co and the beautiful lace & button comes from my friend Marta's Creating Is Fun store.

I was inspired to make this card from my friend Lisa, who makes the most beautifully colored kraft images on her cards! I was inspired to try this technique again and it will also be featured in an upcoming issue of Designed To Color!

Have you ever been in a funk that you can't seem to snap out of? That's how I feel lately and it totally stinks!! I have a lot on my plate and I think I have overwhelmed myself. In Jan, I launched Designed To Color, my new magazine which has had a GREAT response and for that I'm grateful. I also started a new position so training was stressful as I was trying to get it all in before I left for a week to CHA. CHA was incredible! I have a few pictures that I will share in the next day or so. I came home extremely inspired but then the bottom dropped out and I haven't been able to do anything - I'll find a moment to sit at my craft desk and just sit there staring at a black and white image not even knowing where to start! So, my question is what do you do when you get like this? I know we all hit a wall sometimes, so I just need some help climbing over it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Creating is Fun Valentine Blog Hop!

If you've hopped here from Shemaine's amazing blog, you are in the right place! If not, you'll want to start at the VERY beginning at Martha's blog so you don't miss a thing! Each DT members has a special prize to give away and there is also a GRAND prize for leaving a comment on each blog participating today.

So, for leaving a comment on my blog - you have a chance to win what is probably my ALL time favorite item from Martha's store - the 5" white doilies! Oh, I love these and probably use them on every other thing I make lately!!! I did use them on one of the cards I'm going to share today actually.

The first card I am sharing uses buttons and trim from Martha's shop. I made this as my Valentine to my hubby this year. Not your traditional colors and yes, it has scallops which might be a little girly, but it's been almost 17 years since THAT boy met THIS girl and I'm happier every day we're together! Actually, it's kinda weird b/c this year we'll be together the same # of years as the AGE we were when we met!!! Eeeek! haha

The second set of cards are simple 3x3 valentines that I made with trim from Martha's store. I used some Helmar 450 Quick Dry to fashion the heart using the white trim and then stapled the trim on the other card while I pleated it. I love how they both turned out!

And my last card....is probably my favorite because it uses that DOILY I'm giving away!!! I am serious, you will LOVE them!! And I can't find a better price on so many. The flower I made running one of these newsprint paper bags thru my cuttlebug with my CC Designs Rolled Paper rose die and kinda smushed it together there as it was SO super thin. I love it.

So, I don't want to be too chatty - if you have any questions about supplies used, please feel free to email me - I've got a button on my side bar just for that! Don't forget, leave a comment on my  blog today for your chance to win a set of doilies and if you comment on EVERY blog today, you have a chance to win a $25 shopping spree to Creating is Fun - it will go a LONG way and you'll get LOTS of fun goodies to play with!!!

Thanks for stopping by and now you're off to visit the amazing Ashley!!

7 Kids College Fun The Greeting Farm Cheeky Chat using Copics

Hi everyone!

I know my  blog has been SUPER quiet and since I last posted I'm so excited to see I've passed 500 followers. I want to thank each and every one of you for taking time to check out my blog and leave comments when  you have time. I know we are all really busy with our lives so I am SO appreciative when you are able to leave a comment or even just take a looksie as I share something I've created for you.

I am SUPER behind on design team projects so I am trying to play catch up in between house work, etc. *giggle* Today I prepared a card sample on coloring hair with Copics that I was going to teach at a LSS but has since been cancelled. I have a bit to learn about what to create for stores and such b/c it's not about what I love but what about THEY carry that I can use to teach and sometimes I just don't know what they carry b/c I'm an hour away from this particular store. :( I will figure it out though because teaching Copic coloring is on my to-do list and I will get there!!

So, for now, I get to share with you what I made using The Greeting Farm's Cheeky Cherry Chat stamp which I just adore! She is currently in stock at 7 Kids College Fund as well as the Copic Xpress It paper which I love to color on.

The beautiful blue trim and doily came from my friend Martha's Creating Is Fun store. I'm a bit obsessed with her doilies and trims! :D
