Pat On The Back

For my Simply Sassy Friday Inspiration post, I have used Carnival Balloon from the set 6 release. I have LOVED her since I saw a sneak peek from Tracy on the DT way back when. I finally colored her up and put her on card. She's definitely a favorite - perfect for a birthday card I think which I will be using her next for. I was experimenting here with some white space as you can see....I'm not sure what I think quite yet. I love the effect when I see it on other cards/layouts but I'm addicted to my big panel of pattern paper still! haha I think that balloon is DESIGNED for paper piecing - SO cute and fun to add even more colorful paper to my project. I loved coloring her with copics and unfortunately, I made this card about 2 weeks ago and did NOT write the colors down before putting my markers away!!! You can see I've paired her up with more Echo Park For The Record Collection *giggle* Geez, I seem to get stuck on one paper collection and design the heck out of it. I do have other papers.....

Thanks for stopping by today and if you haven't had a chance, PLEASE take a look at my corner bookmark video tutorial from yesterday! I had so much fun putting it together and would love your feedback...should I do more? Cuz I wanna! ;D

Hi Simply Sassy Fans!

I'm so excited to share my corner bookmark tutorial for Simply Sassy with you today! :D I am going out of my comfort zone and have created a video tutorial! This is my first EVER so bear with me. haha I hope you don't mind being my guinea pigs! ;) I thought it would be fun and it actually was once I got over my stage fright! It is a bit long so I apologize in advance.

So here is what we're going to make in the video:

Super easy to create! Here is what you will need:

1 - 4" x 4" heavy cardstock
2 - 1 7/8"x 3 7/8" pattern paper

Embellishments as desired!

Here is the tutorial *sorry the quality is bad - I had to reduce it in order to get the video to load up to youtube* Any tips, suggestions, etc. are greatly welcomed for my first attempt at a video tutorial!

I really hope you enjoyed it! I was talking softly since my girls were asleep and my craft room is right outside their room! *giggle* I can't wait to do another one! The first one is always the hardest right?! LOL I know how to edit them now, but need to figure out how to keep a decent resolution while uploading. Anyhow! Like I mentioned in my video, I'd LOVE to see your bookmarks. Please link them up in this post and I'll be sure to visit your blog! :D

A whole lotta fun with PaperWorks Co May PaperCard Kit!

Oh I’m just bursting to show you my project today….but then I’m sad….because it’s my FINAL project for PWCO. Before I go ahead and share my project because it is SUPER picture heavy – I want to tell Peggy, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I have had an absolute blast designing for PaperWorks Co. this past 6 months. It went by wayyyyyy too fast! All the girls are amazing and inspiring. It’s been so easy because PWCO carries all my favorite things so I know I won’t be a stranger! I’ll definately be back to play in the fun challenges and to keep in touch. Ok, before the waterworks start - Let me show you what I made using the May PaperCard Kit!!!

Ok, even I admit, it doesn’t look like much there. haha But it’s what is INSIDE that is going to make you squeal with delight!!! It’s a stationary card box that I made for Tolla’s teacher; it holds 4-A2 cards & envelopes, 4-3×3 cards, 5-tags, a post it pad & stamps! Next week is her last day of school and I wanted to make sure to send her in with a nice thank you gift. I’m going to cut out the teacher's name using my silhouette I just haven’t gotten to that yet so that’s why it’s a little plain right now on the outside.
Here is the inside, isn’t it awesome?! I just LOVE it – was SO fun to put together. Now, this box as well as all the cards & tags were decorated entirely using what is in the May PaperCard kit. The only thing that didn’t come in the kit is the 12×12 orange cardstock I used to create the box, the October Afternoon letter stickers and the Tim Holtz handle on the lid. Everything else is from the kit!!!

Here are some close ups of the inside:
Here you see the post it note holder and the little pocket perfect for holding a book of stamps.

Here are the pockets for the A2 cards, 3x3 cards and tags.

Here are the pockets without the contents.

Here are the full size A2 cards. I kept them CAS *gasp* haha but I want her to use them! I ran the color CS thru my cuttlbug using the swiss dots embossing folder. I cut out the label with my nesties and stamped the sentiment using my ippity set Just Wanted To Say

Here are the 3x3 cards *there are actually 4 but you can't see one of them* - I thought these would be great for gifts and the fun sentiment is by Unity Stamps Co Retro Road Trip. The background is stamped with VersaMark and is a star stamp from an ippity set called Authentic Man.
And finally the tags! Aren't they cute?! I just love this magnolia doohickey die - one of my favs. You can see from the A2 cards that I coordinated them by using the tilda lace die on those as well. I distressed all the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Inks.I used Helmar Acid Free glue to attach all the pockets and to create the lid so I know it won't be falling apart! I'd like her to have this long after she uses up the cards and maybe fills it up with other cards. :D To adhere the ribbon and flowers I used Helmar Craft Glue.

Playing with Hannah Lynn, Helmar & Tim Holtz Fragments = a FUN magnet!

I was really hoping to play with some of Crafts and Me new May images for today but my printer decided to run out of ink on me - shame on it! haha Thankfully I had this GORGEOUS Hannah Lynn Mystical Pond digital image printed out from awhile back that I had half colored. Phew! So, I decided, to make something FOR ME as so many times I make cards and such to sell or give away as gifts. And as much as I love these Hannah Lynn images, I wanted something I could look at any time so I made a magnet!! It was super easy and I know I will be making LOTS more to hang up on my fridge and around the house.

I recently picked up a pack of fragments by Tim Holtz and used the 2"x2" size for my image. You can see that it wasn't quite big enough for the entire image but I love that it really fills up the square that way. I colored her using Copics and my only suggestion would be to not use 100 next time around as you can see it bled a little when I adhered it. When thinking about what to use to adhere the image to the fragment, of course I thought of Helmar Craft Glue because it dries completely CLEAR! I put the glue directly on the fragment piece and then attached my image - once it was dry, like 2 seconds, LOL, I used my craft knift to cut around the fragment. Seriously EASY! Then because I want this to last, I used Helmar Acid Free Glue on the back just to act as a sealer and protect the paper from any damage. Once that was dry, I attached the magnet using more Helmar Craft Glue. Super easy and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the result! I hope you do, too!

Fun with Shrinky Dink & Simply Sassy Stamps!

Ok, so I'm probably late to the shrinky dink party - but I finally got some and having a TON of FUN with it! Now, I haven't figured out exactly what medium is best used to color on it so my coloring has left a bit to be desired but it's still fun! I love watching it roll and shrink. *giggle*

I wanted to make a charm with Guinevere from the recently released set 7 as soon as I got her! And so I have a fun place to display her I finally altered this notebook so I can write down craft ideas as they come - I don't know about you, but I'm forever saying to myself, ooh, this would be fun to make or I want to try this and then when I actually sit down at my desk to create, I'm like, what do I want to do? Haha - All the ideas are gone by then. So, I figure if I keep this little notebook with me, I can just write down ideas as they come and flip through it when I finally have time to do something.

I wanted to make it pretty and inspiring with all my favorite things so I had to use Guinevere to match the charm along with gorgeous Graphic45 Once Upon A Springtime Collection, OA & Cosmo Cricket stickers as well as Webster's Pages sparklers. I promise I'll use a different stamp next week! haha

Here is the shrinky dink charm next to the full size image so you can get an idea of how tiny it is! Aren't they cute together? I colored them with the same copics (E70, E71, E74, E77, E79) - I was in a monochromatic mood, I thought it would be fun to color her in a bit of a vintagey vibe.

Have a great weekend!

PaperWorks Co Card Kit

**2nd post today - Please scroll down for my Crafts and Me Challenge post!**

I absolutely LOVE PaperWorks Co PaperCard Kit for May and am so sorry I wasn’t here to post a card last week! I’ve put my house back on the market and was running around like mad trying to get clean (like perfect clean) for pictures. Ack, with 3 kids under 5 that is HARD to do! But it happened and now I have time to play again! (I just have to be a good girl and clean up my desk after each project *gasp*)

For my card today, everything came in the kit *except the stamp* I used the adorable Cutiepatootie Ice Cream Bear - He is such a dream to color. On this card I used primsa color pencils and OMS. I just love the fun and bright colors of this Echo Park Little Boy Collection. I left the sentiment off because this could be used for so many different occasions and wanted to keep it on hand for that. These card kits are FABULOUS! This card seriously came together in less than 30 minutes because everything I needed was in reach. I LOVE that and definately recommend these for seasoned and just starting out card makers!

As May winds down, next week will be my last post with PWCO. I will come back with something special *I hope* next week for you. Until then, happy stamping!

Crafts and Me Challenge #35

Hi Crafts and Me fans! I'm so excited to be hosting the Crafts and Me Challenge this week on behalf of the digi team. :D Mine is SUPER easy! Anything Goes with an option theme of using Kraft somewhere on your project. I love using kraft as my neutral when I'm making a card. I have run out of my favorite brand of kraft CS but I managed to find some scraps for my card today! Phew!

Today I finally colored up the amazing digital stamp Fisherman's Catch. You all know what a huge Hannah Lynn fan I am so I definately gravitate toward these!

Our Sponsor for this challenge is CRAFTY RIBBONS!! With a great prize and an easy peasy challenge, I hope you will join us!

I am definately off my game - I have run out of mojo and I came down with a cold so I've been struggling to craft lately. I think you can tell with this card. I'm not thrilled but didn't have time to entirely scrap it all together to start over - I will definately be pulling out this stamp again to give it another try because it's just so beautiful! I was going for an ariel hair but it didn't quite come out as I imagined. Practice, Practice, Practice! I'm not even going to list what copics I used. haha There is no point since I'm not happy :D

Through The Craft Room Door - Challenge #2

Please click HERE to comment on my current Growing In Unity Posts for your chance to win! Commenting will remain open until Tomorrow May 16 11:59pm MST.

I'm a bit late in posting my TTCRD challenge post - this past week has been CRAZY!!! Yes, with all capital letters. LOL I'm hoping this week will be a little calmer - the house is in order - now it's just to keep it this way for any possible showings. And of course I've come down with the cold my girls had last week but that's ok -I'm still feeling good and excited to show you what I created for the 2nd challenge of the month at Through The Craft Room Door!

Our challenge is to use WINGS on our project. Now, this can be anything from your paper, your image (angel, butterflies, etc) - it's left to YOUR interpretation as long as we can see wings on your project. :D I've been dying to try out this shrinky stuff I picked up at Stamping To See You last month and I finally worked up enough courage! I stamped this adorable books a flutter stamp by ippity with staz on ink and then colored ON THE BACK with copics *since I used clear shrinky paper I was able to do this*. I cut it out and then went to town shrinking it! haha

I tried one and then loved it so much, did a bunch - I'm going to put these up in my etsy shop SOON.

I saw that the nook had "charms" and I thought, I want to make my own charm so that's what I did with mine. Isn't it adorable!? I love it - I made one to give to my mom for her nook as well. :D I think she'll love it.

Don't forget, we do have a couple simple rules:
  • Your creation must be new (please do not link to old creations, they will not be entered in the drawing)

Oh, and I NEARLY forgot - we have an amazing sponsor this week! Paper Makeup Stamps is offereing the lucky winner a $15 giftcard to their store! I can't wait to see what you create! :D

Growing in Unity - Repost & Final Post Combined!

So, I was hoping that my Thurs post would come back up, I had 2 and now they are both in la la land and I can't even remember what I wrote! So, rather than try to do it ALL over again I'm going to combine what my Thurs GIU project with my final 2 GIU projects. I'm going to leave commenting open until tomorrow night before I pick a winner due to all the blogger issues and then not being home to put the posts up any earlier than today.

I was in a Christmasy mood with the weather here in Colorado so here are two Christmas cards I made using Unity Stamps:

This one uses Samantha Walker co brand Greeings of Christmas - it's a favorite of mine that I will definately be using more of for this years Christmas cards! I also had to pair it with one of my favorite papers Echo Park!

This card uses Websters Pages cobrand stamp Believe in Miracles - I love this set and I had to pair it with Websters Pages paper of course with WP Bloomers, too! :D The sentiment is from ippity set Season of Joy.

My last project is a birthday tag that I enjoy making. It's clean and simple for me. :D Will look great perched on top a present. It uses ippity set Just Wanted to Say - one of my go to sets for sentiments of all occasions!

So that's it for my Growing in Unity week. It stinks that it was interrupted by blogger but hey, that's how it goes. I for one, haven't had issues with blogger prior to this incident and it's free so I'm not going to complain. ;) I hope you will take time to comment on this and all my GIU threads this week with you can find HERE. Look for the winner's post here on Tuesday!

This set is aptly named the Steampunk Collection so I knew I had to dig out my Graphic45 steampunk paper. When I saw this particular stamp NAMED Guinevere no less, I KNEW I had to use her for the blog hop and thankfully all the girls agreed. haha I just got these fabulous lasercut chipboard gears from Make it Crafty and they were perfect for this card! I kept them naked b/c I love the way they look against the background. I loved that I was able to achieve the different height with my Helmar Liquid Scrap Dot as I wanted to pop up the 2nd chipboard gear and then also the image a little more from that. I love how it turned out!

This card is one of my favorites! I made it for a magazine call but it didn't get picked up. That's ok because I get to share it with you today! :D I used another set I just had.to.have. seems like I say that a LOT with Unity Stamps. haha This one is Retro Road Trip - it's so funky and right up my alley!! This cosmo cricket paper was just the right combination for these stamps.

Growing In Unity - Day 2

I made this card using Sexy, Silly & Sassy set which was a MUST HAVE for me!! I am so glad I got it. It's a fun set to use for all those cards you want to send to your girlfriends. I love my Be Mine Echo Park Collection and I made this during a phase when it was ALL I was grabbing. *giggle* Don't you love that? If I have pretty paper, I have to use it.

Thanks for stopping by and remember, leave a comment for your chance to win some Unity Stamps! I'll pick a winner at the end of my GIU week and you'll have your choice of selected Unity Stamps.

I wish I didn't have to post and run - I just am running around nuts trying to get the house ready to go on the market tomorrow. Yikes! I am just so grateful I made these projects in advance. :D

Growing in Unity All week Long!

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and Mother's Day if you are a mom! My weekend was glorious - although I spent no time at my craft desk, I feel rejuvenated. Sometimes it's good to step away. I was thoroughly spoiled this Mother's Day, my hubby & kids presented me with a beautiful apron they decorated just for me plus a steam / vac mop and handmade cards, pictures & more.

All my favorites, then to top it off my parents bought me a NookColor. I'm having fun playing around with it, though I'm still nto sure I'm ready for an ereader! LOL I kinda still like to flip thru pages, etc.

So, onto my project! My first GIU project features mixed media with canvas I created awhile ago but haven't worked up the nerve to share here yet! I love it and have it displayed in on my desk *it's not big, about the size of a card* and it reminds me to just be me. I used the sentiment from the She Set by Unity Stamps.

Now, if you don't know how this will work - each day I'll post a new project using Unity or Ippity stamps. Comment every day to increase your chances of winning as at the end of the week I'll choose one comment at random to win their choice of select Unity Stamps!!! Easy Peasy, right? Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave me a comment. I'm sorry to post and run but I'm running around like a mad woman trying to clean up for pictures tomorrow. Our house goes back on the market Wednesday.

Teacher Appreciation Card

I am so excited to bring you my Simply Sassy card today - she is one of my favorites - but then I probably say that with each new stamp that I ink up! haha I received my Set 6 last week and couldn't wait to ink up Winking Student just in time for Teacher Appreciation Week! I paired her up with some of my FAVORITE October Afternoon papers and colored her with copics. I kept it pretty simple but I think that's why I love it because the gorgeous image is in the spotlight. I wanted to color blond hair today but I didn't want it to be super yellow so I used a new combination for me, let me know what you think!

I am LOVING my time with Simply Sassy - the girls are so awesome and just a blast to chat with from day to day. I can't say Thank You enough!
