Welcome to Day 3 of my Growing In Unity week! Today is a VERY special day for me. My son was born 1 year ago today. :D He is seriously the best surprise I've ever had. I was not expecting to be pregnant when I found out I was and now our lives just wouldn't be complete without him! He is so sweet and so loving. He has 2 of the best big sisters, too! I wanted to step a little out of my card making comfort zone and create a scrapbook for him. So, I decided to create a paperbag album chronicling his first year. The pages I'm sharing are the last for his birthday. I plan to use all this gorgeous October Afternoon Ducks In A Row paper for the entire album. I just love it and have quite a bit of it so I'm not going to hoard it any longer! I know it has some pink in it but eh, it's for a baby, that's OK, right?! LOL
One of my favorite things about my ippity stamps are the journaling stamps that are perfect for scrapbooks as well as cards! I thought this would be cute to share 10 things I love about my son as he turns a year old. It's something I'm going to carry throughout the scrapbook so there will be 10 things I love for each month.
Here is the 2 page layout together. I love the paper bag idea because the middle short page is PERFECT for your journaling. Also, it has pockets *from the bag* to put keep sakes, or even create pull out pages for additional pictures/journaling.
There are just sample pictures - since it is his birthday today I don't have pictures yet! I just thought it would show better if I put pictures in it. I really love how it turned out and can't wait to finish the rest! I love how these papers also match perfectly with Week 2 of the Ippity Monthly Challenge!
Supplies:
Designer Paper: Ducks in a Row by October Afternoon
Stamps: Love In Return, Life's Little Moments, Moon Beam & Heart Strings, Dots for Sure - All by Ippity
Embellishments: Tim Holtz Film Strip Ribbon, Canvas tag, Button & Twine from stash.
