Growing In Unity Day #2

Welcome to my Day 2 of Growing In Unity. My card today I recently submitted to Paper Crafts Magazine Go To Sketches call but it was not picked up. But that is ok with me because 1. I get to share it with you today and 2. one of my other cards submitted WAS picked up! I cannot WAIT for August to see my first card in print. It was very exciting to receive that acceptance email and my card is now on it's way to Paper Crafts :D

I used Unity Stamps IOD Co brand stamps Be Still Beloved Collection for this card as well as IOD designer paper. I can't remember which sketch this was for but I wanted to also share in the "rejection" blog hop. I say that in quotes because the cards are all so beautiful and out of 2750+ cards submitted only 288 were chosen, there is some amazing and talented designers I'm in company with both in the publication and the reject side of things!

From my experience, don't EVER give up. Try, Try, and Try again if your work doesn't get picked up. It took my 4 times and 24 cards before ONE got picked! And boy, was that worth all the wait. Just remain true to yourself and your style. If you try too hard to create what you think the magazine wants, chances are you tried too hard and lost yourself in the process. During this call, I released all the pressure and just created what I wanted, what inspired me and was beyond surprised when it got picked up. :D

So, don't forget, I'll be posting every day this week a NEW project for Growing In Unity and leave me a comment each day for your chance to win!
