Feeling Blue?

Not blue in sad but blue in COPICS! That's the challenge at Copic Creations! I love their challenges and always want to play along but nearly always miss out. NOT THIS TIME! It may be the LAST day but I'm on it. LOL I used Laid Back Dude which is part of a set with Fashionista at Sugar Nellie which I used yesterday. Did you know Simply Sassy makes the cutest dudes as well? I think we're all obsessed with the sassy girls but these sassy guys are just as cute and fun to color! I didn't color him ALL in blue but used my favorite (ie. only) combo for jeans and gave him a nice BG scarf. I just adore his little hint of a smile and in FACT, he seriously reminds me of my hubby in high school. He used to wear hats like that and just OOOOze the mysterious sexy that finally won me over as he walked away looking back over his shoulder like that *giggle* I kept the layout simple and the embellies to a minimum - it is a guys card. The star paper is from my stash but I *think* it's Minds Eye? The news print is definately October Afternoon.

Pretty In Pink!

I am so excited to finally share this card! I made it for the Sugar Nellie Pink Challenge using this adorable Fashionista Simply Sassy girl. I just LOVE this line of stamps and have so much fun coloring them! As you can see I also used my favorite Echo Park paper Be Mine - when you need pink and lots of it....this was the perfect choice! I wish I could have gotten a better picture so you could see the shimmer on the laser chipboard embellie in the corner. I used Liquid Scrap Dots on my rolled paper flowers to give each one a different layer of dimension.

Oh and if you love these stamps as much as I do, be sure to mark your calendars for what is sure to be a fabulous blog hop with the Simply Sassy DT:

Crafts and Me: Adrianna by Hannah Lynn

**please scroll down for my PaperWorks Recipe Tuesday Post!**

Hi everyone!! I'm sorry my post is late, but I hope you'll forgive me once you see this GORGEOUS stamp...hopefully worth the wait. I know I'm on the digi team but I've got some fabulous rubber from Crafts and Me as well that I just HAD to share with you today. I stamped this image off for my daughters and well, she was too tempting NOT to color up so I stamped one off for me as well! This is Adrianna:I told you she was gorgeous!! I just love coloring all that hair! I used copics with a touch of prisma colored pencils to darken the shadows. On her tail, I used the coloreless blender to add scales and took my white gel pen to dab in the middle. I cannot wait to get my hands on some Copic Opaque white because I know that will be some fun stuff to play with!

I paired her up with some Graphic 45 papers from the halloween line (sorry can't think of the right name at the moment) and kept it simple with the sketch and just added some twine. I don't know about you but after spending all that time coloring I want the image to be the focus so simple is nice. :D

Triple Threat Recipe Tuesday at PaperWorks Co!

Good Morning Everyone! We have another fabulous Recipe for you today at PaperWorks Co!

3 Squares
3 Brads/Eyelets
Twine

Easy Peasy! For my card I used the super cute Abigail C - Spring Blooms! I colored her with Copics and paired her with some October Afternoon papers from my stash. I love making fun shaped cards like this circle card and hide the fold with a scallop on top of the card part. It kind of bugs me when the shape is all thrown off by a fold so I tend to hide it, LOL! Do you like how I "cleverly" added my 3 squares and 3 eyelets? Yes, pretty nifty...and I love the effect. I also have to say how much I am loving Helmar's Liquid Scrap Dots - because of the eyelets if I put a regualr pop dot down there you would be able to see it thru the hold - so instead I place the Liquid Scrap Dot all AROUND the eyelet and was able to still give it dimensino! Fabulous! I hope you'll play with us this week! I love seeing your takes on our recipes.

Challenges I'm Entering:
Mojo Monday - Sketch #184

Supplies:
Stamps: A Day in the Life of Abigail C by PaperWorks Co - Spring Blooms, Handwritten Notes by PTI

Misc: Twine and Prima Flower from stash

Spring in my step with Sweet Pea Stamps!

A good friend of mine recently asked if I had any Sweet Pea Stamps because they were "so your style" LOL I had secretly been coveting the SPS for sometime but just never took the plunge to add any in my collection. Then I saw they had a sale and I was all over it! So, I finally got my first set of Sweet Pea Stamps a feww weeks ago and was so excited when they arrived! I finally cut them out and got inky yesterday with this darling stamp! She's part of a big sheet of rubber with a pirate-y theme and two sentiments (one of which I used on this card!)

I had a lot of fun with this Friday Sketch. I also used a fabulous tip to tip coloring technique with my Copics on the flowes. I also colored my very bright yellow prima flowers with R29 to match the flowers on the image and tone them down a bit. Speaking of copics - there is a fabulous sale going on at Carpe Diem - you can get sketch markers for $3.95 each!!! That's an insane deal and free shipping over $50 which is SO easy to do and if you're not ordering at least $50 worth, there isn't really a point! LOL I have no idea how long the sale is supposed to last so if you are thinking about it, just do it! Oh, and a tip, it doesn't show the sale price until you put it in your cart ;)

I also finally played with my new Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots I recently won! I watched the product spot light HERE with Tracy Weinzapfel and couldn't wait to try them out finally! It's a bit of a different technique as I'm usually a smoosh and wait girl and this product you just lightly place on your project! But I am loving it now that I understand how it works! I wanted to give a bit of a side view to show the depth achieved on the prima flowers with the LSD - ooh, probably don't want to abreviate that one, eh? LOL

Gosh, this is a long post, but this card has so many different details that I do want to show! I love the Lasercut Chipboard Embellies at Make it Crafty and used the swirly corner ones on this card. I actually put some washi tape down one some CS to create a bit of a background to peep thru the chipboard and then spritzed with some Glimmer Mist and added a touch of stickles because it just wasn't blingy enough for me yet!

And finally, if there is something that you MUST.HAVE with your crafty staples it's a CLEAR Atyou Glitter pen! I love this for adding just a touch of shimmer like I've done on the flowers. And it's GREAT because since it is really clear it doesn't distore the coloring you've done when you put it over it! It's really hard to photograph but really looks fab IRL!

This sketch is so inspiring. I loved it as soon as I saw it and even more as my card came together. I know I used this Echo Park Be Mine paper last week but I couldn't help it - it's GORGEOUS! I've come to realize in the past couple of weeks that I'm really addicted to pattern paper. I hardly create anything withOUT it! and Echo Park in particular has really taken a monopoly lately on my stash. LOL They make such fabulous papers - I love the patterns, I love the weight and colors. And have you HEARD, they are releasing fabulous 6x6 paper packs!!! I'm in heaven. Even though I have a LOT of the 12x12 kits, I know I'll be getting those 6x6 packs especially for cards. :D For my image today, I used the cheeky set Naughty or Nice. FWF Grunge Paper Rose Headbands

I've had sheets of grungepaper FOREVER, I mean FOREVER! LOL And finally worked up the nerve to create these 3d flowers. I have to say I love making them. Getting my hands all inky and dirty makes me feel like a true artist. As I sat down yesterday to make a card, my girls interrupted me and begged for me to make good on my promise to create them grungepaper flower headbands! So...who am I to say no...esp when they are on spring break, right?! I used distress inks in Fired Brick and Shabby Shutters and also my ippity stamps Dots for Sure and Music of My Heart. I added a small brad to the center of the red flower. I spritzed them both with glimmer mist. They were so fun and easy to make - I will definately be making more. I'd like a thicker headband I think next time to attach them to. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry glue for the entire project. This stuff is amazing! I love how it gives you just enough drying time to make a adjustments to placement and then a few seconds of pinching time and that isn't going anywhere! Even for gluing on such a small surface area like this skinny headband I was impressed.

Here is a snippet of the March KOTM - isn't it fabulous? Gosh, I really need to get on board with this. How fun would it be to get new rubber in the mail every single month?! Unity Stamp Co really knows how to knock out a kit to, with something for everyone in it! Plus, when you join you get a special discount code every month and bonuses!! Welcome to this week's challenge at Make It Colourful! First, I have to say, I LOVED all the kiddies that came out to play with us last week. It was SUPER cute to see so many of you crafting with your daughters and nieces. I tell you, it's one of my favorite things to color with my girls.
So, on to this week's challenge - Zoe wants us to blend Yellow and Green....yellow and green? Yep, that's right! At first I was like, um, hmmm, really? But then if you just think about it with the yellow  being your highlight area it really seems to make sense! I love this and have been having fun coloring different things with this in mind. Definately stop by the Make It Colourful blog to be completely inspired by the rest of the girls on the team. They just BLOW me away each and every week. There are so many different ways to interpret this challenge so really just have fun with it.

I used copic colors YG11, YG13 and Y11 on her leg warmers. I also used my Peaches of Plenty stamp from Make It Crafty to create a pattern on my tag. I love how versatile these stamps are. I'm definately going to be using this technique again.

My Crafts and Me Digi Debut!

Crafts & Me

I am so over the moon excited to be part of the Crafts and Me NEW digi design team! When Teresa asked me, I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming! I absolutely LOVE the stamps that Teresa carries in her store so it is an absolute dream come true to be able to design for her! And when I saw the new digi's that were hitting the store, I just HAD to grab Dear Diary available here for my debut post.

If you haven't guessed by my blog name *giggle* I have a soft spot for fairies & elves & all things magical - one of the reasons I'm obsessed with the fabulous Crafts and Me stamps. :D I'm always nervous when I make a new card for a new DT, so I hope I've done justice with this gorgeous image. I colored her with copics and added LOTS of shimmer with some silver smooch and pearl glimmer mist here (temporarily out of stock but due in soon) on the mushrooms as well as my atyou glitter pens but the camera never catches that subtle shine well.

I look forward to inspiring you to all the possibilities of these fabulous digi stamps by Crafts and Me!!

Spring Forward with Anyone for Anya Color Challenge!

Today at Anyone for Anya? we have a beautiful color inspiration for you. I don't know about your neck of the woods but it's really been feeling like spring here and I just LOVE it. My favorite kind of day consists of a walk with my kids while they ride their bikes and fresh air breezing thru the house from open windows. Ahhh, can you feel it and see it? Yes, Spring is ALMOST here!

So, we have this GORGEOUS picture and all you have to do is whatever YOU feel inspired from it. Just remember to use a stamp from The Greeting Farm or CC Designs in order to qualify for our prize - which is just fabulous from Simon Says Stamp this week!

I am completely addicted to making this fabulous corner bookmarks which have been selling like HOTCAKES on my etsy shop!!! I was very inspired by the bright yellows and blues from the picture. And of course, what is spring without butterflies so I used my Favorite and FIRST Anya Flutter Anya!!! Yep, she is the first Anya I bought and that sparked a lasting friendship as I boldly emailed Marie at TGF to see if I could pick up the order since she was local. *giggle* So glad I did that and so glad she said yes! :D I stamped her on this fabulous canvas tag I snatched up last time I was at Archiver's - I love the subtle effect.

I'm also participating in the fun Butterlfy Blog Linky Party hosted by the ever amazing Eva! Be sure to stop by for a list of all the fun blogs sharing their gorgeous butterfly creations today!

Kids Challenge at Make It Colourful!!

Zoe asked the colour addicts if we thought our kiddos would like to play along in a challenge?! I knew my girls would love to and so today, my blog has been taken over by my oldest, Tolla. :D The kid challenge which may turn into a monthly challenge if we get a lot of response, is to color with pink. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy as Tolla likes to say. hehee She cracks me up!!! Oh, and there will be a pretty in pink package of goodies for the winner!

If you stop by the Make It Colourful blog, you'll see that Zoe is generously offering up a FREE digi for this special challenge but my daugther being Miss Independant went in another direction with this adorable sweet november princess. *giggle* I've already apologized to boss lady....Tolla doesn't quite understand yet the terms Design Team and Card Challenge. She just sees me colouring and making cards for fun! Oh and as you can see....there is just a TOUCH of pink in her coloring, but I do like the rainbow dress this princess is sporting. She also got a hold of my RED atyou glitter pen....yes, all that red is from my glitter pen. *sigh* It's a good thing she's cute, right?! Also, I have to share, she sees me cutting my images out all the time and she calls this particular style of cutting "bubble cutting" when I leave a white edge around the image. *giggle* Too cute, right?!

So, I hope you will join us with your little ones: kiddos, nieces/nephews, grandchildren, neighbor kids...etc. LOL you get the idea. ;)

And just so you can see the artist herself...She the one resting on my head. :D Teagan, my other daughter, decided to go in a completely different direction by coloring in purple and now I can't find the image she colored. LOL Can't wait to see what the kiddos come up with this week!

Last day of GIU with FWF

LOL, love all the abbreviations, huh? So today is my last day of Growing In Unity plus it's Friends with Flair, this is such a fun week to share all my new Unity & Ippity projects with you. Thank you for all your comments. Don't forget to leave a comment on each day this week for your chance to win fabulous prize from Unity Stamps!

My card today is another one I made for the recent sketch call at Paper Crafts Mag. I absolutely LOVE how this one turned out! It wasn't picked up but I'm fine with that. I picked up these great canvas tags at Archiver's last time I was there and thought it would be perfect for my center panel of this sketch. I love the button flower that was in my stash, this seemed to be the perfect card to add it to.

Thanks for joining me this week and be sure to leave your comments for your chance to win!
