PaperWorks Co Free For All Monday!

Happy Monday! Can you believe it's the last day of January?! Yikes, time is just flying by - I swear Christmas was just last week, wasn't it?? Today marks my first day as a full time SAHM. I was working from home, but gave my notice 2 weeks ago. It was proving to be too much for me to balance the two, so we decided to try this for while. I'm very excited to be able to spend more time focused on my kids.

Speaking of kids, for my Paperworks Co FFA post, I knew I wanted to make my son some new onesies. He's a chunker and while not yet a year, is already in 12-18 months clothing. I decided to stamp some cute of the adorable PWCO animals and color them with copics. When I got the stamps, I had a design immediately in my head like alphabet cards and took out my Unity frame this alpha stamps to create the text. I absolutely love how it turned out and had to put him in one right away. It's nearly impossible to get him to sit still, but I tried. LOL Sammy the Snake is my favorite.

It's pretty simple to stamp on fabric - For my ink, I used Stampin Up craft ink in chocolate, but Palette inks work wonderful! Then I heat set it with an iron on cotton setting for about 20 seconds. Then I let it cool and color directly on the fabric with Copics. Blending is nearly impossible, but doable. After I'm done, I heat set again with an iron for another 20 seconds. Then I'm done. To wash, you probably want to wash in cold water, but I wash everything in hot water, I wash with the design inside out and have minimal fading.

Supplies used:
Copics: E33, E35, Y38, R85, Y21, Y23, Y11, Y17, E13, E17, R85, YG11, YG17, Y02, Y21, R24
Misc: Gerber Onesies

Make It Colourful Challenge #4 - Colouring on something OTHER than white cardstock!

This week for our challenge at Make it Colourful we're challenging you to color on something OTHER than white cardstock! For my project, I wanted to make a t-shirt for my girls but wasn't quite sure how to do it with digi stamps. I've stamped with ink & rubber on fabric and colored but this was different. Then my fabulous teamies came to the rescue and suggested iron on transfer sheets. So I picked up some HP Iron-On Transfer for Color Fabric that I could run thru my printer. I have LOVED Rocker Roxette since I first saw her and have had her for ages and this is the first time I've colored her!

Here you can see her close up. I absolutely LOVE how she turned out! It's different coloring on the iron on portion then fabric. It's kinda smooth but kinda rough and uneven. I heat set it again after I finished coloring. I'm worried about how it will wash so I'm going to let my daughter wear it first because she is very excited about her new shirt. In fact, I still need to color a 2nd one for my other daughter...cuz you know what you make for one, you need to make for the other too. *giggle* The 2nd one will be green though as those are their favorite colors. :)

I hope you liked my project and you will be inspired to try to color on things other than white cardstock, whether it be kraft, fabric, tissue paper, vellum, -- the Colour Addicts have blown me away with their creativity once again! Be sure to stop by the Make It Colourful Blog & see all the lovely projects today.

She said...Happy FWF Friday!

I used She by Donna Downey for Unity on my card today. As soon as I saw this set, I knew I had to have it. I love all the sayings and the image is beautiful. I was inspired by Maria Gurnsey with her card here to stamp the open image on DP and lightly color with Copics. That part was a little hard for me just b/c of the rough texture of the DP. Anyone that colors with Copics knows that smooth is best. :)

Anyway, hope you like my card - it's pretty simple and done up in my favorite color! Be sure to check out the Unity Blog for a list of all the inspiring blogs participating in FWF today.

This card kinda embodies today for me with that sentiment....today is my LAST DAY AT WORK! Yep, happy Friday indeed. I will officially be a SAHM instead of a WAHM. I'm looking forward to spending more time with my family and making dinner again! :) I have never been officially out of work except for moments of maternity leave in the past 5 years so it's definately something new for us. With 3 little ones and a home to manage, we think this is best.

Just for fun - playing with a different Coloring Medium!

I know, shocking, right?! LOL I am pretty obsessed with my copics and still have TONS to learn with them, so it seems silly to step outside my comfort zone but I've been super inspired to try coloring with different mediums by my teamies at Make It Colourful. Since I have some prisma color pencils, I decided to give it a try. I wanted to follow THIS tutorial by the amazing Jen Shultz but didn't have quite the right OMS and blending stumps so this is just plain colored pencils no blending with OMS. I used Stella from The Greeting Farm b/c she's just one of my favorite sprouts! I absolutely ADORE this Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 line - was kinda perfect for Stella.

I also wanted to share my fabulous copic storage by Studio3Solutions that I won a few weeks ago from Wee Memories! I got it 2 days ago and immediately opened up the box and started sorting my markers! My girls had fun helping and I have absolutely NO ROOM LEFT! LOL

So, I guess I'm going to have to buy another one, huh? I really love it. It's so sleek and chic sitting pretty on my desk! Thank you so much to Jenny & Wee Memories! I absolutely LOVE it.

**Please Vote for Me at Cosmo Cricket!**

**THIS POST WILL REMAIN AT THE TOP OF MY BLOG UNTIL TUESDAY JAN 25TH WHEN VOTING ENDS FOR THE COSMO CRICKET DESIGN TEAM CONTEST** PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR NEWER POSTS.

So, to my amazement, I made TOP TEN at Cosmo Cricket in their design team contest. This would be SUCH a dream for me to be able to design for them so I wanted to share a couple things I made this weekend in my excitement and to show you what I would do if I made this amazing design team. I figure it is only fair to share projects made using Cosmo Cricket when asking for you to take a moment and vote for me! If you would like to vote for me, it's very easy, just visit Cosmo Cricket Blog and there is a poll set up on the side bar. You have until Tuesday to cast your vote. The competition is fierce and I'm far from winning the votes but I'm still very hopeful that it can happen....with YOUR help!

The first project I'm sharing is this awesome jumbo altered clothespin. It's just perfect for displaying a favorite pictures on your desk. I used Circa 1934 for this. It's my favorite line right now - I just LOVE the vintage feel to it. I also used glimmer mist in yellow and distress ink in barn door to color the clothes pin before decorating. I love having this on my desk - This pic is one of my favs from this past Christmas.

Here is a close up of the project.

And since first and foremost, I'm a card maker! I used some of my Circa 1934 scraps to put together this thank you card. I also used ippity stamps Life is the Journey & Itty Bitty Paisley for the sentiment.

So, I hope you will vote for me! It's hard for me to ask, oh heck, BEG like this - but it's the nature of the contest so here I am....asking and begging for your votes! :)

Paperworks Co Free for all Monday!

Hi all, so sorry I’m late with my Paperworks Co Free for all Monday post! It was my daughter’s 4th bday yesterday and then after everything died down, I was not feeling very well. I woke up feeling much better though and had time to make a card using this week’s Sketch #66 and the flower tutorial that Nicole posted on Friday – I’ve been dying to try this technique out and was so happy to see her tutorial. I’ve seen other tutorials but hers made total sense to me! I sprayed my ribbon with yellow Glimmer Mist and distress with Barn Door distress inks prior to rolling into a flower. These are so fun to make – I love using hand made embellies – makes for a perfect match on whatever you are working on! I used Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 for everything on this card except the flower & gem from my stash. Hope you will join us in our sketch challenge this week!

Also, I really want to thank everyone for your support & voting for me in the Cosmo Cricket DT Contest! It truly means the world to me that you all support and love what I love doing. I was talking to my hubby last night and when it comes right down to it, I am so lucky to have this wonderful hobby that de-stresses me and surrounds me with amazing and talented women every single day. I have made so many friends by blogging and being on different DTs and it's so nice to have that connection with other women all over the world - and I mean ALL over the world - some of my besties live down under and I love waking up to a full email inbox as they waffle all day long while I sleep. Anyone for Anya Challenge & A Cosmo Cricket Vote Request!

Happy Sunday! This week at Anyone for Anya our challenge is to use TWO images on your project. I was kind of stumped on this one but finally got my card put together. I know I used this adorable unicorn last week but it's just too cute and since I was building my card for my daughter's birthday (she turns FOUR today!) and she LOVES unicorns and is having a fairy birthday party, I knew these two images would be fun to put together. I also used this adorale Cosmo Cricket Pixie-Licious line which I just LOVE. It has lots of greens (her favorite color) and purple (my favorite color) so it was just meant to be. I colored this image using Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I've been inspired lately to try new techniques - i have to say it was fun and thank goodness for my Make it Colourful teamies as they pointed me in the right direction for OMS and blending stumps. My corner flourishes are from Love Heart Swirls by Make it Crafty as well - they are fantastic laser cut chipboard embellishments. I colored them purple with chalk glimmer mist and added a pearl in the middle.
This week we are sponsored by Crafts for Eternity!

I hope you will take on this challenge and I look forward to seeing how creative you get with your two images.

And now for my special request! I have made TOP TEN at the Cosmo Cricket Design Team contest. It would be a DREAM to design for them. I love all their products - as you can see I used Cosmo Cricket on my card today. I thought it would be fitting to show you a project made using them when I ask for your votes!! I'm kinda far behind, but voting is until this Tuesday so I think I'm not giving up hope quite yet!!! All you have to do is visit Cosmo Cricket blog HERE & there is a poll set up on the side bar. Thanks so much. :)

Make It Colourful - Challenge #3 - Vintage Photo

Welcome to Make it Colourful's 3rd challenge of the year! Thank you to everyone for make it so successful each week. Looks like we're not the only Colouring Addicts in the world! There is just something soothing about sitting down to color an image - for me to put on a card - and I just love it. I love the friends I'm making on our DT across the globe.

So for our challenge this week - we're calling it vintage photo - so black & white or sepia tones is what we're looking for. This is such an AWESOME effect on images and I love it. I love vintage and seeing as how I just completed my E collection of Copics I knew I wanted to try out sepia on my image. As soon as Zoe showed us Geeky Love I knew I was going to snatch it up and I did! I think they are so cute!

Rather than list the copics I used to color my image this week, I took a pic with what ended up on my desk at the end. hehee Much easier for me! I hope you don't mind. I can tell you that I used the E's for their skin and hair and used the W's for most of the clothes.

Happy FWF Friday with some Co-Brand Challenge Projects!

Happy Friday! I have been waiting to share these projects that I made for Unity's Cobrand Challenge. Both of my projects use Iron Orchid Design cobrand stamps.

My first project is a scrapbook page that I made - I'm not a scrapbooker but I'm always saying I want to do it so I finally took the plunge with this my favorite pic of me and my son when he was a newborn. He's now 10 months old and wow, how he has changed! I used IOD Pure Joy from the Sweet Lullaby collection. The paper is also from IOD. The tiny type is Cosmo Cricket and the bloomers are WP.

The 2nd project I'm sharing is a 3d project I made using my new silhouette! I love this machine. It is a sweet little mailbox perfect for putting little treats in to brighten someone's day. I used IOD Be Still Beloved for this one. It is my favorite I think. Again I paired it with IOD papers.

Thanks for stopping by! If you haven't checked out the many new releases at Unity Stamps you definately want to check them out - My wish list grew to be about a mile long! LOL

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. This week at Anyone for Anya? our challenge is to use Pretty Bows - could be on your image or you can use twine, ribbon, etc! Just have fun - I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

For my card, I used this adorable unicorn Meadow by Sweet November stamps. Isn't she just the cutest? I just adored coloring her purple. I wanted to make this my daughter's birthday card - she's turning 4 in just 2 weeks but I couldn't find the sentiment I wanted to use that says Have a Magical Day...I know it's somewhere, I just have a mess of a craft area right now. I really need to take a weekend and really organize. I've colored her using Copics V000, V01, V12, V15, V17, V09. Then I used Clear Atyou glitter pen on her horn & hooves and lavendar Atyou glitter on her mane and tail. I used Make it Colour Blending Paper and let me tell you it is amazing - I love it!

Anyway, be sure to stop by Anyone for Anya? to enter - we have a really great sponsor Simon Says is offering up a $15 gift certificate to use in their store!

Make it Colourful Challenge #2 - Colour it RED for Valentines!

Wow, we had an amazing response for our first Make it Colourful challenge!!! This week we have our 2nd challenge and that is to color in Red for Valentine's Day coming up. Make it Crafty has these HYSTERICAL digital cupid stamps and I just knew I wanted to color up Whoopsie for my card today. His expression is priceless! And who knew Cupid wore RED whitey tighties. LOL My 3 yr old when I finished the card just CRACKED up in giggles and said he's too crazy. I colored him entirely using Copics with Atyou glitter pen in clear for the accents. I also added white fun fluff to his wings b/c cupid's wings are soft as snow you know. This was just such a fun card to put together and I LOVE coloring reds. You can see all the copics used in coloring this image but I will list the reds here for you: R22, R24, R27, R29, R46, E09. Aww, I just love this card and my teamies have done AMAZING things coloring in red this week as well. I sure hope you will stop by the Make It Colourful blog and leave them all some love.

I hope you will have fun colouring in red this week! I look forward to seeing your projects. :)

Monster Love!

Hi everyone! My MIC design Teamie Barbara sent us this ADORABLE love monster and asked if we'd help her out with a challenge she had up her sleeves and I just JUMPED at the opportunity. He is one cutie patootie in my opinion! And with his little toothy grin, I knew the sentiment I picked would be perfect! I colored him with Copics - I love coloring red and knew white & black for his spots would be so super cute. Since I'm battling this cold, I made lots of great grunting monster noises while coloring this little guy! LOL Good thing it was at night otherwise my girls probably would've had big fits of giggling at me. I also added a bit of bling with the awesome Lasercut Chipboard Love Heart Swirls available at Make it Crafty.

So, if you want to play with the challenge, swing by Forgotten Scrap's Blog to get all the details and pick up one or both of the freebies to play with & your chance to win!

Crafts & Me Forever Rose - Love

In my last post - I mentioned how much I am loving these Crafts & Me stamps by Hannah Lynn. I have fallen pretty hard for these images! I just love the uniqueness of them and the coloring possibilities. I like an image that gives me lots of area to color but not necessarily a whole figure - I love that these faces are so expressionate - is that a word?! LOL Honestly, they are just beautiful and I love seeing them pop to life as I color them. This image is probably my favorite so far! It's called Forever Rose and isn't she dreamy?! As soon as I my eye fell upon my Graphic45 Steampunk paper pad I knew I was going to pair her with them. I colored her hair & the rose to match the roses in the paper. I love this Steampunk Line and when I saw these gears by 7gypsies while at Archiver's Sat night - I knew I had the perfect embellishment to complete this card. I think I am finding that I love grunge/antique/dirty styles - who would have ever thought that! LOL I hated it when my mom would drag me antiquing when I was a kid!!! I thought it was SOOOO boring and hated all that old stuff. But now I LOVE to browse the old shops downtown for inspiration and especially love the street markets we have in the summer time here. Now, I'm the mom dragging my kids around as they complain about being bored. LOL

So, as I mentioned in my last post - Crafts & Me is having a DT call - I am submitting my blog - this card specifically in the pool of talented entries! I have my fingers AND toes crossed. :D

Crafts & Me Birthday Card!

I began seeing these GORGEOUS Crafts & Me stamps being fabulously colored by my Make it Colourful teamie Tracy and I  knew I just HAD to get some!!! One fo my most favorite things to color with my copics is hair and these images have the ultimate in hair to color! While I waited for an order I placed I noticed they had digi's - whoohoo - gotta love instant gratification, right?! Esp for me when I have no patience for the post. LOL My mom loves penguins so I immediately grabbed this stamp called Tagalong and made this for her birthday last Sunday. Her favorite color is green so I paired it with my all time fav October Afternoon papers with some touches of grey because it is the new black you know...hehee

Here is a close up of the coloring - I added some clear aytou glitter to the top and her eyes but it really doesn't capture in the photos b/c it is so subtle which is what I LOVE about the atyou glitter pens! I have run out of my clear b/c it's my go to color and just ordered another and realy can't wait for it to arrive! While obsessing, erhm, being inspired by Tracy's blog I saw that Crafts & Me is having a DT call!!! Oooh, I knew I wanted to try out so I'm submitting my blog into the pool of entries and keeping my fingers crossed. I truly love these images and it would be such an honor to design for them - it also sounds like a great group of ladies to work with!
