Anyone For Anya? - Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone!! So sorry I'm late for today's challenge - My days have been so off lately. It's weird not having Sat/Sun off from work like everyone else. My days off are Sun/Mon so it really throws me off!!!

Today's Anyone for Anya? challenge is a sketch & I just LOVE sketches. I had to use my new Miss Anya Lounge set I picked up recently from TGF. I think they are just too cute and I don't use Miss Anya nearly enough, I've realized. Be sure to stop by the AFA? Blog and see what the rest of the team has come up with - I just love the diversity of our team.

I hope you like and be sure to check back tomorrow as I am currently working on my TGF Release Day cards --- yes, there will be more than one!

Another preview.....i heart sweaters!

We have another fabulous sketch by Jennifer Shults today - isn't it great?! Today EVERYONE is playing along - CA&F as well as The Farmers! We are just so excited to use this week's sketch to INTRODUCE: I HEART SWEATERS!!! This fabulous set is scheduled to be released on Nov 1 with all the other fabulous previews you've seen this past week.
I used the ever so cute Ian from this set for my card today - I colored him with Copics and this was my THIRD attempt!!! Something about wavy/curly hair gives me a coloring block. It's definately a challenge for me.

Be sure to stop by the CA&F blog to leave a comment as one lucky person will win I heart sweaters (you have until 11:59p CST to comment). I hope you will play along in our sketch challenge this week and I KNOW you will all stop by for the DT Blog Hop release Day starting at 12:01 am CST Nov 1.

Have a great weekend!

Lil Lolita Boutique - Birthday Challenge!

LOTS OF POSTS TODAY SO PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MORE FUN CARDS I'VE MADE!
Welcome to an exciting day at Lil Lolita Boutique Challenges!
I'm so sorry about my absence last week. I was whisked off to Las Vegas for an impromptu business trip and have been playing catch up ever since! Oyi, I'm finding it very hard to bring balance in my life right now. Enough with that though, on to the challenge.
I hope you have been keeping up with all the birthday celebrations at Tickled Pink Stamps as she turned ONE this month! For today's BIRTHDAY THEME challenge here at LLB, we're all happy to preview a NEW Kellita Stamp that YOU can win in digi OR rubber HERE.
I am totally digging this "big head" style with my Lil Lolita digi's. They are so much fun to color this way. I just adore the Kellita's & hope kellie will continue to release more in the future! I kept my card simple as I really wanted the image to be the focal point. Be sure to stop by the LLB blog to se the rest of the DT girls projects - they totally rocked it this week!

Make it Crafty - Vintage Fun with a Sketch Challenge!

Hi there - I hope you had fun joining us the past 2 weeks for our Distressing Challenge - I had so much fun looking at all your projects. Distressing really is one of my favorite things to do to my cards. It looks like I'm not alone in that! So, for our 2nd Make it Crafty fun challenge, Zoe came up with a REALLY amazing sketch!!!
Isn't it great?! I just love all the fun elements she added. I have a hard time making super layered cards so this sketch was the perfect jumping off point for me! Have some fun with it - add your own vintage spin to it and I look forward to seeing all your amazing projects.

For my card, I used the Eerie Scene Digi stamp available at Zoe's Store - she & the rest of the DT girls have totally got me hooked on these little scene images. I just adore them! Even though I'm still a little intimidated when I get started. hehe I wanted to cut out the image to layer on top of the sketch so instead of cutting out the moon in the image (ok, to be completely honest, there was NO way I was coloring that.) I just cut out a circle with my nesties, ran it thru my cuttlebug for some fun texture & sanded it. I love the way it turned out & b/c I loved the bats from the image so much, I just cut those out and placed them around.

Be sure to check the Make it Crafty Challenge blog for the rest of the DT projects - they definately blow me away each week - I'm in awe to be with this group of talented ladies!

Inking Pink Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Inking Pink Awareness Hop! Our paper crafting community spans the globe and brings all of us together under a common roof. We are grandmothers, granddaughters, mothers, daughters, aunts, sisters, best friends, wives, cyber-friends and design team teammates. Many of us have family or friends touched by breast cancer and all of us want to encourage all of you to check yourself!

This hop will take you around the world, so please sit back with your morning coffee or evening tea and celebrate our stories and projects with us. Some of your fellow crafters along the hop are even offering blog candy! Please give a little comment love to each and every crafter along the way. We hope you enjoy our hop, and most of all we all want YOU to give yourself the greatest gift and do a self-check tomorrow. The more you do it, the more breast aware you will be!

Our hop starts at Patricia's blog, so if you didn't arrive from Bonnie's blog, please start there you don't want to miss what we have for you.

For my card, I used pink with splashes of grey & black as I just love those colors together. I kept it simple by just adding a couple of my rolled paper roses because I really just love this sentiment from the Simple Things {ippity} set which is available on my {ippity} sales blog. Mention the Inking Pink Blog hop and get an additional 10% off the current sale on your entire order, plus a free gift with each purchase.

Please, take a moment during the days of this blog hop and give yourself the gift of a breast exam. It takes no time at all and early detection can mean so much in fighting this horrible disease. My prayers go out to Elise and her family in hopes that she will win the battle against breast cancer.

Thanks for looking, now please head on over to Catherine's blog and see what she has for you.

H{ippity} Hop Monday!

It's been so long since I've been able to stamp anything lately. I think my mojo took a vacation. *sigh* But when my new {ippity} stamps arrived I just knew I wanted to participate today & I am having so much fun making these paperbag mini albums. I figured I'd start this one and make a page for each of the kiddos in their halloween costumes. This is just the cover of course - but I will be making the inside and sharing those soon.
For the cover, I used That's Creepy available for purchase on my {ippity} sales blog! As always, free shipping!

Anyone for Anya? - Anything BUT a card challenge!

This week at Anyone for Anya? our challenge to you is to make anything BUT a card!!! Ok, I LOVE these challenges b/c so many times I need to be broken out of my card making mode. I have seen these adorable bookmarks around and have been inspired to make my own. They are SUPER easy to make!!! I love easy, let me tell you & wonderful for using up small scraps. If I can do this anyone can! Here is the tutorial I followed.

For my bookmark I used the funky WS - Dahlia!! Isn't she too cute?! I loved coloring her hair and her tights for sure Then I paired with with my favorite OA papers & this fun MS punch I picked up on clearance a few months ago. I colored her with copics but was at a play date when I did so I didn't write down the copics I used!

I hope you will join us this week - we have another great prize for you up for grabs!

Simply Betty Stamps - Punky Teens Christmas Release Blog Hop!!!

Wow, I'm so excited to be a part of this blog hop - I just LOVE the quirky stamps that Simply Betty Stamps releases all the time. Totally fills a niche that needed to be filled in the stamping world!! If you come from Barb's Blog you are in the RIGHT SPOT!! If not, be sure to head over to Simply Betty Challenges to start the hop - I hear there is a Nov Guest Spot up for grabs!!

I got the uber cool Tristan here for ya! With a name like that of course he's cool!!! Too cool for hair color for sure. I just loved coloring him up and that AWESOME tree with my copics. I love this spotty shadow technique but need a little more practice with it. You can think it looks like snow if ya like. hehe Not saying it was intentional tho! And my Liquid Applique didn't dry in time and I couldn't find my heat gun to hurry it along but I'm sure once it's all dry it will look even cooler!!!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head on over to Catherine's Blog now!

2S4Y - Boss Day Card!

I LOVE sketches as you know & 2S4Y come up with some amazing ones week after week! When I saw this weeks, I knew it would be perfect for the card I was putting together for my boss. Of course, I used this Keepin' it Real, Boss image from Tiddly Inks with Copics & paired it with some of this delicious Graphic45 paper. I forget the name of it but it's so vintage and so perfect for a guy. I just LOVE it - will be looking for the paper pad for sure. It is for a guy AND my boss so no over embellishing here, LOL, I just added some jute string and bit of edgy punch. I hope he likes it - I don't normally share my hobby with my co-workers so I'm a bit nervous. LOL I usually keep my personal life separate. But he's a great guy and everyone I work with was very open to us sending a card so it worked out.

Make it Crafty! Technique Challenge - Distressing

Over the following two weeks our delightful, and charmingly French, ‘Mag la Magnifique’ will be hosting and sharing one of her fabulous techniques on creating a distressed background using water based distress inks.

Distressed background Tutorial: You can find all the details on Mag’s tutorial in our techniques section.

The challenge itself is to create a project that has distressed elements on it. Whether it be using the technique Magali has shared, distressing the edges of your paper with a tool or inks or sanding your card stock; anything that displays an old vintage distressed look.

A new group will be set up in the ‘Learning Community‘ where you can join and ask questions about distressing, share ideas and request feedback before submitting your project to the challenge. You can also use the gallery there if you don’t have a blog or would prefer our ‘real feedback’ is private and not on your personal blog.

Where ever you post your creation just make sure you link to it here using the Inlinkz at the bottom of this page.

PLEASE NOTE:ALL PROJECTS ADDED TO THIS CHALLENGE WILL RECEIVE GENUINE CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK ON THE TECHNIQUE.

This means that you may receive feedback that you were not expecting or even wanting to read. The designers will try their best to offer their suggestions in a respectable understanding manner.
And now for my card:
I love distressing my papers so that is what I did on my card - I used my scissors to rough up the edges & inked them with Vintage Photo Distressing ink. I also distressed these gorgeous petaloo flowers available in Zoe's shop - I used Vintage Photo & Barn Door Distress Inks together. The image is from the fabulous Tiddly Inks which I printed on X-press It Blending paper - I asked Christy if she would make a Boss's Day image and she drew up this image which is fabulous! It's also available in Male & Female versions. She totally rocks!!
We are really happy to announce that we have some new faces joining the team to play along with us during our fun challenges and on occasion they may even have some inspiration for the technique challenges.
Please welcome
Annika,
Barbara,
Beccy, &
Sheila
to the team!

Drop by with a hot cuppa in hand and kick back and let your jaws drop! heheheThese lovely ladies will be designing up a storm of inspiration for you for our next fun challenge!

ATC with Tiddly Inks

I have had this ATC in pieces until today when I finally got it all together. Today has been a Tiddly Ink crafty day for me - I'm working on Boss's Day cards which I hope to share soon! For my ATC (which is this week's challenge at Tiddly Inks Challenge) I used Pinky who is so stinkin' cute with her skully cuppycake! LOVE it. I had to pair it with some of this cupcake paper scraps I recently found & thankfully my good friend Jaci didn't mind when I tore into her new nesties while we wait for our backordered nesties! hehe Of course I colored with copics but have been bad about writing them down as I go - I tell you, that hair is so much fun to color - I'm sure most of you know I pretty much have a hair obsessions. LOL Maybe to do with my desire to be a hair stylist?! Hope you like!

Gettin' crackin' with 2 challenges!

Wow, I can't believe how many NEW followers I have! I am so grateful and love all the comments you leave! I hope I keep all of you happy! I have to thank CNS for hosting such an awesome blog hop - that girl is AH-MAZING!!!

Today I have a card to share with you using a new technique - faux cracked glass. Now....it didn't come out as great as I had hoped. For some reason, the blue embossing ink didn't dry clear. It is supposed to but I don't emboss a lot so it's pretty old so I am going to pick up some new embossing ink pronto so I can try this technique again b/c other than that, it is AWESOME! I really love the vintage feel it gives and I just HAD to pair it up with some more of my new Hall'oween Wonderland pad by G45. LOVE it! Of couse, the image is Royal Proclamation since I'm entering it in this weeks Tiddly Inks Challenge - Diamond Glaze/Crackle Accent (hope this qualifies). The sketch is from this weeks Taylored Expressions.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's as easy as 1-2-3 at Anyone for Anya?

Happy Sunday to everyone!!! I am SOOO happy it's Sunday, I really need a day off and I'm SO excited to be visiting two of my great friends to hang out, stamp & color ALL DAY LONG! I know yesterday was World Card Making day but we'll be celebrating today.
So this week at Anyone for Anya?, we have a recipe challenge for ya that's as easy as 1, 2, 3 - 1 image, 2 DPs, 3 embellishments! This is a tag I wanted to finish for my post on the CNS Halloween blog hop but just didn't get in time, so yay, I got to use it for today! I couldn't wait to use some new goodies, actually, almost everything here is new except the flower & trim. I used my new graphic45 hallowee'en in wonderland paper with my new TGF Hallo Bride and my most favorite of all - do you see it?! The new Tim Holtz film strip ribbon!! OMG - it's AWESOME!! Added the perfect touch to this and I can't wait to use it in all kinds of different projects.
I colored my image with copics, but forgot to write them down before putting them away. Wahh, sorry, bad habit!!! Be sure to check out Anyone for Anya? to see what the DT has put together for you and our AWESOME sponsor this week!!!
Since I used a digi I am also going to enter this in the Card Makin Mama's challenge this week - check it out and join us!
PS. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all my new followers!! Wow, I am so touched & flabbergasted that you want to follow lil' ole me! hehe In honor of this, I will be putting together some goodies as I think it's time for some BLOG CANDY!!! I have so many amazing DTs to thank and want to share some of my favorite things.

CNS Halloween Blog Hop!

Welcome gouls and thanks for floating by! It's been a week of Halloween on Canadian Nickel Scrap'n. I hope you've had a chance to pop in and get some new ideas for your crafty haunt. I LOVE halloween & was so happy when Nicole asked me to be a part of her hop - I hope you are prepared to become bewitched and find some fun projects to create in your dungeons! Make sure you leave your comments at all the Haunted Blogs for they get restless without them. And you don't want to get left in the dark for the treats keep you from going MAD! There's a lot going on with my spooktacular post today. So beware as you spend your time with me, that there is nothing lurking in the shadows.

You should be just crawling in from Betty's gruesome project. Unfortunately, LIFE totally caught up with me this week so I don't have a Halloween paper crafting project to share with you (yet) today but I found these creepily delish cupcakes online that I think I am going to HAVE to make with my girls. We LOVE cupcakes at our house! Take a look at these:
How totally gross looking and they are SO easy to make!

Bake a batch of cupcakes. Spread a coat of light orange icing (stir drops of yellow and pink food coloring, and just a touch of green, into 2 cups of buttercream frosting until you get a hue you like) on a dozen cupcakes. Use a pastry bag fitted with a number 10 round tip to top them with fat zigzags. It works best to first pipe two zigzags down the middle and then fill in the sides.

I have a half colored image that I'm going to do my best to add to my post sometime tomorrow once I get a decent amount of sleep. I should just post a pic of myself b/c I'm sure I look pretty ghastly with these dark circles!! hehe Thanks for stopping by and now it is off to see the amazing Catherine!
