Make it Crafty DT Announcement!!!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe today is the day I finally get to spill the beans!!! I am so excited & honored & a little it surprised to be on the new Make It Crafty Learning Challenges DT. I saw Zoe's DT call out & when I saw how this was going to be unlike any other challenge blog I've seen, I kept going back to the call & back to the call until finally I decided one night, late late one night, like 12:30 am to just send in my application - cuz the worst that could happen is she could say no, and I've been told no before so it doesn't hurt me like it used to! So, when I checked my email oh, about 15 mins later before heading to bed, and saw her reply, and then click on it I had to read it like 10 times before I could believe I had been accepted so fast!!!

So, I am very excited to be a part of this amazing DT - there really is every kind of crafter on our team and we will each showcase / spotlight a different technique once a month. We will then challenge you to use that technique to create something to enter the challenge.....and here is where it gets interesting....we will offer you honest, constructive comments to help you master & grow in the technique! I don't know about you but the thing that keeps me happy in this hobby is constantly trying & learning new things! I hope you all love this idea as much as we do. It will be fun & it's meant to be helpful. We are all committed to really looking at your work & giving you valuable feedback - I know I've had the odd comment, that was definately a cut & paste....with us, each comment will be carefully noted & personal to you alone. Then after the technique challenge is over, we'll have a fun challenge for you so two challenges a month giving you plenty of time to fuss over your project & enter. :)

So with that said, I wanted to make a a card using Sapphire Fairy (a digi available at Make It Crafty) and I just love how she turned out!

Isn't she adorable? I colored her with Copics (of course!) and tried out what I think is my new favorite brown hair combo E27, E34, E50. My daughter was stamping with me today & she is always asking me to color my images red so I finally complied on this one and gave her a gorgeous red dress. I just love the wings on this fairy, almost leaflike, so I had to color them in green & add stickles b/c fairies love to be sparkly.
